Cob Cottage

Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

Welcome to Aisling Reach! Located on the oceanfront in the peaceful neighbourhood of Gordon Head in Victoria. You can enjoy the stellar views of Haro Strait and San Juan Island, as well as a chance to do some whale watching on your private patio. Our private suite is perfect for a weekend getaway or a longer stay. With our close proximity to the University of Victoria, Mount Douglas, dozens of beaches, and downtown Victoria, you are bound to find something to see and do every day of your visit.

This includes on road outside please to respect the neighbours. There is a large park 2 mins away. Fridge, Toaster oven & Kettle for snacks. Coffee and tea provided. Sink & dishwasher in a run of kitchen cablinets. TV. On bus routes for Camosun, UVic & downtown. Pretty neighbourhood with Estevan Village a short walk away. 2 cats on property.

Garden Cottage is a beautiful space in Modern Farmhouse design. The navy kitchen has a farmhouse sink, quartz countertops, coffee & cocktail bar. Lovely bathroom with European tile & vintage wall sink. Laundry, Westin Heavenly king bed & 43” TV. Fenced backyard with BBQ, hammock & dining tables set admis a large flower and vegetable garden. The Bunkie is the former garden shed and sits right beside the Garden Cottage. Combine this rental with "Family Cottage @ Horner Park" for larger groups.

Spacious, studio suite (no separate bedroom) surrounded by trees, backing onto a green space (birds, deer, squirrels). All the comforts of home. 1 queen bed & a foldout twin chair-bed. (No range). Very close to the heart of the city, Royal Jubilee Hospital, Comosun College, St. Michael’s University School, UVic , recreation ctr. with a gorgeous walking/running chip trail around it, multiple grocery stores, pubs, general shopping options and a large shopping mall a short 10-12 min. away.
