One mile off the popular NC500 tourist route, our two pods and a Shepherd's Hut offer peace and quiet in an idyllic location with some amazing sunrises, sunsets and starry skies.

Station Master's at Strathcarron Station is a luxury self catering holiday apartment on the world-famous Kyle Line, one of the “Great Railway Journeys”. Be the Station Master in this lovely two bedroom first floor apartment which has been restored to its former glory but given the contemporary touches that complete a relaxing break. Bathe in a cold mountain stream, see the stars in the dark night sky, feel the heat from a crackling fire, and fall asleep to the sound of the waterfall.

Foulis Castle Gate Lodge

Foulis Gate Lodge is a Highland cottage on the Gates of an historic, private, Highland estate with its own drive. The secluded location offers direct access to extensive gardens. The nearest amenities are 2miles in Evanton or 5miles to the ancient Burgh of Dingwall. Foulis Castle is a 15 min walk away from the Storehouse Restaurant & Farm shop, which is situated on the shore/beach of the Cromarty Firth (Mon-Sat 9-5pm). My place is good for NC500 travellers, couples, and business travellers.

One up from camping. enjoy the beauty and simplicity of the Strath Oykel scenery. A gas stove and a loo with a view. The Bothy benefits from a fire pit to enjoy sundowners and northern lights from, looking onto a loch. There is also a log burner for those chillier evenings. Bring drinking water and food. Everything else should be there.
