Swallow Cottage was lovingly converted by Steve and Sarah from McMurdoston's old granary in 2014 and provides a wonderfully peaceful place to stay while exploring Dumfries and Galloway. The cottage is only 20 minutes drive from a 24-hour supermarket, a cinema and numerous eateries, but once you get here you'll feel as if you are truly in the middle of nowhere. We live just across the yard if you need us and we'll do everything we can to make your stay comfortable, relaxing and quietly memorable.

The Coach House, Glenluiart Cottages

The former Coach House of Glenluiart House in the musical, artistic, festival Village of Moniaive. The Coach House is a category B listed building which has been fully renovated to a high standard and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing short stay. Private grounds, with access to gardens and wonderful countryside views. One mile to the village of Moniaive and six miles to Thornhill with great local restaurants and activities. You can explore beautiful beaches, great small towns, rolling hills or just enjoy looking out the window. You'll hear owls, see hares and red kites and get a taste of this undiscovered corner of Scotland.

Prince’s Cottage is the old Shepard’s house and was originally made for the Prince Family. A 2 bedroom cottage that has been renovated and has the most amazing views. It is nestled just off the dead-end road that goes up the glen. It has its own little garden which is great for a dog to run around, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything that you need to make a feast after a day outside and when you are done you can sit by the log burner to play games at the end of the day.

Red squirrel, deer, kingfisher, woodpecker, red kite, buzzard and otter are just a few of the local visitors spotted from our garden. Stepford Station Cottage is the perfect cosy retreat for nature lovers. We welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs at no extra fee.

A Victorian Schoolhouse, now a cozy and stylish home. The Old Schoolhouse has 3 bedrooms, shower room & en suite bathroom. Wood stove in the lounge, open fire in the kitchen, and central heating. Light, bright, with a large garden looking onto the fields beyond- snowdrops in the spring, cherries in summer, and apples in autumn. The occasional escapee hen wandering about. The perfect place for a proper holiday.
