Swallow Cottage was lovingly converted by Steve and Sarah from McMurdoston's old granary in 2014 and provides a wonderfully peaceful place to stay while exploring Dumfries and Galloway. The cottage is only 20 minutes drive from a 24-hour supermarket, a cinema and numerous eateries, but once you get here you'll feel as if you are truly in the middle of nowhere. We live just across the yard if you need us and we'll do everything we can to make your stay comfortable, relaxing and quietly memorable.

The Old Toll House Petite and perfectly formed

Petite but perfectly formed The Old Toll house is a perfect base to explore Dumfries and Galloway. The Old Toll house was built in 1813 the same time as the bridge was built. It was the original Toll house used to collect the payment for people crossing between Newton Stewart and Minnigaff. It is nestled just off the dead-end road that goes up the glen.
