Onde estará

We will visit the Marina neighborhood for dinner at Pacific Catch, a neighborhood mainstay with a claim to fame of appearing in Apple's very first iPhone commercial in 2007.

Going on a running adventure with Bret and the HeyHey Runner's Club was a sweet experience. We started the week with a seafood dinner he treated us to. The next day he took the group on a trail run in the Marin headlands. We finished the week with a run through a few trails connecting different neighborhoods in SF which dropped into the Off the Grid food truck spot. I have spent most of my life in the East Area and few years in the city, but was totally blown away by the unique trails I had never heard of. From the first meet up Bret was incredibly generous, not only with dinner but with bracelets for the group and some Nuun electrolyte powder. He was also very accommodating. While planning the routes he was always asking for input and suggestions, with various options depending on fitness level, time frames, transportation and interests. The HeyHey Runner's Club excursion was way more entertaining than I had imagined. Bret and the rest of the runners were open to meeting people, checking out new terrain, and in general there to have a good time. I would highly recommend the club to someone looking to explore the Bay Area and the city whether they are there for business or pleasure.

Bret was a fantastic host with a wealth of knowledge about exciting and new places to explore in, and around the Bay Area. Running the trails throughout the Marin Headlands was a truly amazing experience, and I'll definitely be back for many more runs with Bret! Thank you Bret!

Bret was a super welcoming candid outdoorsman. He had a ton of route options that he ultimately let us decide as a group which we preferred. We had an adventurous group so we opted into an evening Marin Headlands run with headlamps. I'm a local and would have never known about these trails or the zen center or had even done this kind of outing without Bret. I am super active and I was pretty exhausted by then end of the trip. With that said, I am not sure how you guys will gauge a guest's fitness. There will need to be a fine filter on who can actually endure this trip. Also, as adventurous as it was, safety is a concern of mine. Not that he wasn't considerate or unsafe, but so many things could happen on these runs. The last night was in the city and again he gave us options and let us choose the route. He took me through so many hidden trails and stairwells - I'll definitely be doing those in the future again and showing my friends and family. We ended up at Off the Grid, which was the perfect ending to the run. He went above and beyond and drove me back to my car, too. He's wonderful and a great city host. ++++++++++++

This experience took us to many sides of San Francisco that we didn't even know existed. My wife and I had a fantastic time. On our first day we enjoyed a delicious fusion of Hawaiian and Mexican food. Our host, Bret, gave us a warm welcome and some top travel tips. We couldn't have asked for a better guide. For us the main event was a trail run from Stinson beach, through the mountains, into Muir woods and back, around 11 miles in all. The views throughout were truly spectacular – probably the best running route I've ever seen. On our final day we joined the HeyHeys running group on a run from Twin Peaks towards Golden Gate Park, stopping early (3 miles) as we had a flight to catch. Jogging downhill at sunrise was another great way to experience this city. I'm not much of a runner, although my wife is – Bret did a great job of accommodating both of us. Had I realised how hilly San Francisco is, I might have trained more in advance! I would thoroughly recommend this experience to anyone who enjoys running.

My husband and I had a fantastic time with Bret – he was organised, informative and friendly. The places he took us were truly amazing! Our experience started a couple of weeks before our meeting. I emailed Bret asking for some tips on our experience, and within minutes I received an answer. He was very thorough and friendly, and explained in detail what he was planning to do with us, gave us some running routes options to pick from, and provided us with some useful tips we should follow to get ready for our run. We decided to meet at the the restaurant called the Pacific Catch. This place was very cool and not only for its delicious food – the Pacific Catch was used by Steve Jobs during the first 2007 iPhone announcement. During our dinner, Bret explained what routes we might want to run, asked us what our expectations were, and explained what makes San Francisco so great. This one meeting gave us a great understanding of what it might feel like to live here – now we couldn’t wait to go for a run! We picked “running" as our San Francisco experience, because we found that one of the best ways of exploring a new area is by foot. This proved to be the case this time. When we met Bret two days later, we travelled all the way to the Stinson Beach (about 40 min drive from home) to then run through the Mount Tamalpais State Park all the way down to the Muir Woods National Monument. The area was remarkable: the landscapes were breathtaking, the air was nice and crisp, and it was so... quiet. Pure joy! The area was amazing but it wasn’t just that we loved. We also appreciated Bret’s determination to push us into completing a 12-mile run - instead of 6 as we originally planned. We knew we could do it. We knew we had the time to do it. We just needed someone to convince us to want it badly enough to actually do it - and Bret accomplished that! Thank you. After we completed 12 miles we decided to stay for a bit on the beach. Only 18 miles away from the Golden Gate Bridge, the place felt like a completely different country. Looking at the people around us, hearing the sound of waves in the background, feeling the warmth of sand under our worn out feet - it was lovely! The next day, we ignored our achy bodies, put our HeyHey tights on (Bret’s gift for us for surviving yesterday’s run), and met his HeyHey Runners at the Twin Peaks. Sadly, as we were leaving SF a few hours later, we could only do a short run with them. Bret showed us some great, almost hidden routes in the Upper Market of SF. I recommend this experience to anyone who loves running, wants to explore the city from a different angle and likes meeting new people - it’s...
