The Rimu Hut - Cosy Bush Escape

A tramping-style A-frame chalet nestled against rimu trees on the edge of a stunning 15-acre native forest block close to the Hunua Ranges in rural South Auckland. Built by the owners using macrocarpa timber grown on the property, it was intended to be a place where their grandchildren could enjoy sleepovers in the forest and afternoon adventures. They soon realised though, that such a special place should be shared so they decided to make it available to others. Cosy in winter, cool in summer!

The Bamboo Tiny House

A tiny house nestled within a quiet, lush Balinese-inspired sub-tropical urban jungle. Conveniently located within Ponsonby and Herne Bay - cafes, restaurants, and bars are just a 5-minute stroll away. Your host live next door in the main house. The Japanese-inspired minimalist interior features bamboo cabinetry and paneling, with some quirky features such as a catamaran net in the loft which is also a comfortable place to chill out.

Piha Retreat - Rainforest Magic

The Retreat is nestled in protected native rain forest with stunning views down to Lion Rock at Piha Beach 15 mins drive away. You will be rested & rejuvenated after your stay. Designed by Chris Tate, who won international acclaim for his "Glasshouse" in Titirangi. Watch the sun go down from the deck with a glass of wine, enjoy the outdoor bath under the stars, then have a wonderful peaceful sleep.

Misty Mountain Hut - Piha

A tiny isolated hut amidst Kauri and Rimu trees to escape the world, self check in. Outdoor Fire, long drop, outdoor hot shower/bath. Surrounded by Tuis and Wood pigeons the hut is close to Piha and Karekare…or simply stay and enjoy nature. Beaches are 10 minutes away by car. Grocery shopping and gassing up recommended beforehand. Misty Mountain Hut supports local Piha staff by paying $40/hr.

We are very close to several beautiful beaches which are safe for swimming. We are within an eco village that is run solely on solar power and is a quiet and restful retreat space. Kia ora! We would love to host you in our separate studio where you can relax in private. It includes a modern bathroom with shower, as well as a living area with a sofa/single bed. (Available for use as an extra bed on request for a $40 fee). It is set in our native NZ garden and is bright and fresh. We live in a great area with many cafes, shops, restaurants and bars nearby.
