The Lakeside River House

The cottage lies on the banks of Lake Rousseau. This is a very interesting lake. The lake is fed by the crystal clear waters of the Rainbow Springs system and the dark tannin stained waters of the Withlacoochee River. Back in the 1930's, the water shed was dammed up on its far western edge. The result was a creation of a 12 mile long lake with a river twisting through the center, all of which you will enjoy from your waters edge dock. This property is on a freshwater canal that connects directly to the Homosassa river. You can kayak/boat, even swim to the springs in < 5 minutes. 2 kayaks plus a paddle board are on site. Fort Island Gulf Beach is a 10-15 min drive. New outdoor pavers and fire pit built in 2026. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs, and a loft upstairs that is intended to sleep lots of children. Ideal set up is 3 couples downstairs 5 kids upstairs. Plenty of parking for cars and a boat trailer.

For additional sleeping there is a sleeper sofa in the lounge. We will accommodate Dogs (up to two) but NO CATS... Owner is highly allergic. There is a $75 additional pet fee per stay.
