The main bedroom has a king bed and an attached lanai with a ocean view. The other bedroom doubles as a living room with one twin bed. Enjoy the pool, rainforest trail, steam vents, volcanic hot spring tubs and private retreat setting surrounded by forest. Located in rural Kalapana Seaview neighborhood. Nearest store 10 mins, town with services is Pahoa, 20 mins away. Hilo, 45-60 minutes away. Volcano Park 1 hour. All of island accessible for day trips.

Our place is a cute, rustic cottage in the countryside, surrounded by 850 acres. Only 3 miles from Hawi Town and walking distance to ocean and historical trails to Kamehameha's birth site and Mo'okini Heiau. Since we live by pastures we sometimes have geckos (our local lizard). They are our friends because they eat the bugs, which we sometimes have. Awesome ocean and sunset views. During Humpback Whale Season (Dec-Apr) you can sometimes hear the whales sing and flapping their tails.

Surrounded by orchids and other tropical flowers, the cottage is located on two lovely landscaped acres - 30 minutes from Hilo or Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The property is solar powered, an off-grid sustainable system with 4G phone service and fiber optic wifi. The last two miles are on unpaved gravel road in variable condition depending upon how much rain we've had lately. Four wheel drive isn't necessary but an SUV or similar vehicle with higher clearance is recommended.
