The slow monday sits on the edge of protected forest (a cassowary corridor) just a stroll from the beach. A modern take on the classic Australian beach shack, the house is designed for the Queensland tropics. There are two pavilions, one for living and the other for sleeping, all with large glass sliding doors that open up to let the environment in.

Birdwing Hut in the Rainforest

This simple hut nestled into the rainforest is a birdwatcher's paradise! The property is entirely off-grid and is situated in a wildlife hotspot, with 100 acres of wet tropics rainforest connected to the World Heritage listed Maalan National Park. An ideal base for nature lovers to explore the Atherton Tableland, the bird list includes over 200 species, including Victoria's Riflebird, Blue-faced Parrot finch. Mammals include Tree kangaroos and Herbert River and Green Ringtail Possums.

Here a discrete self-contained one bedroom cottage in upland rainforest is surrounded by natural and established gardens, and at 1,160m provides a cool summer and cosy winter retreat. Uniquely the cottage integrates art within and outside. Contemplation, inspiration, privacy and comfort, are all to be experienced, along with exploring our forest and local environmental features.

The Lake House

Beautifully designed modern Balinese-inspired house with marble tiled flooring throughout, carved wooden doors and volcanic rock walls, a unique tropical oasis in a truly unique setting. Host living quarters are under the same roof and separate from Airbnb accommodations. Set on a hectare fruit tree orchard up in the hills of Germantown it offers fantastic views of the valley with Mount Bartle Frere in the background. Its peacful and quiet yet a short drive to a major town. Canecutter way Scenic Drive runs past the property. Local attractions: Paronella Park, Mena Creek Hotel, Murdering Point tropical fruit winery, Aussie Farm Entertainment and more.

Mission Beach Farmstay

Daily rate is for a couple using the king bedroom. If you want to use an extra bedroom, it is $30 per person per night. Book at the extra person rate. Modern cottage in traditional Queenslander style, just a few minutes drive to the beach, to cafes, restaurants and retail shops. Relax on our organic fruit farm with stunning views to world heritage rainforest. There are little touches to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Plenty of room for families.
