Relax at our peaceful *SMOKE FREE* Swenson Lake retreat, a Scandinavian-style cabin just 10 mi from New London/Spicer. Enjoy 150 ft of private lakeshore with dock. Kitchen/living/dining areas offer stunning lake views, cozy wood stove, and Wi-Fi for remote work. Sleeps 5 with queen bed, bunk beds and twin bed. Screen porch, fire pits, hammock, grill, and yard games await outdoors. Nearby lakes, parks and trails offer year-round fun. Garage with bikes, fishing gear, kayaks and more provided.

The Maynard Cabin, a Civil War era log cabin

The Maynard Log Cabin was erected by a homesteader after the civil war. We have moved and restored it and made it available for rent. It is off the grid, but it has a complete functioning kitchen, wood stove and sitting room downstairs. There are two antique beds with new mattresses upstairs. There is no electricity but the cabin is furnished with kerosene lanterns. The bathroom facilities consist of wash basins and outhouse. The cabin is surrounded by 40 acres of woods and meadows.

Our sunsets are lovely, and nature surrounds you. We are located on Long Lake which has no public access so it’s very quiet. Bring your kayaks for some amazing bird and turtle watching. Feel like swimming? Fairly Lake beach is 4 minutes from the cabin! End your relaxing day around the firepit!

Cozy Basement Apartment (With Private Entrance)

Basement apartment featuring a cozy reading nook, washer and dryer, WiFi, and TV with access to all streaming services. Guests have separate entrance on the side of the house and parking in driveway. Perfect for two but can sleep up to three. No AC? Not a problem here! Our basement space stays cool and comfortable all throughout the hot and humid summer days of MN. We also have fans available and we constantly run a dehumidifier to circulate the air and keep away moisture.

Treehouse (LOTR) Stargazer Skycabin

Our LOTR themed treehouse, along with our LOTR Wizard's Cottage, have been described as a "love letter to Tolkien himself." We have been featured on PBS and WJON radio. A manager lives on the acreage, about 200 ft. from the Wizard's Cottage and very far from the treehouse, which is located on the back part of the acreage. It has a fenced-in portion that makes up the Shire Garden. Down the hill is our nod to Mordor. Feel free to visit and dare to open the "Mor Do(o)r."
