Terra Firma - 1850s Fleurieu Cottage

Take a step back in time. Built in 1850, this cottage was once occupied by the very Caffreys after whom our street is named. The cottage is structurally identical to how those European settlers would have inhabited it. The thick walls are fantastic for keeping both the summer heat and winter cold out. Workers, holiday-makers, and day-trippers have come through this place, each having left their own little mark. And hopefully, the soul of this place will make a bit of an imprint on you too.

The home can cater for a couple or up to 8 people comfortably across the four bedrooms.

Fast forward to present day and you will find a charming old cottage with a modern extension that has been thoughtfully designed, surrounded by a peaceful garden setting. Conveniently located in the heart of McLaren Vale, we are only steps away from all that the region has to offer. Make yourself at home! Take a swim in the pool, cook a BBQ and enjoy a glass of wine under our 170 year old pepper tree.

Space & peace to self isolate in beautiful surroundings with lots of trees & fabulous views. Sit by the wood combustion fire & warm your soul or lie in until lunchtime in soft linen sheets, listening to birdsong. Lost in the Vines is a very private space in the McLaren Vale wine district, surrounded by vines & views, with lots of great walks, wineries & restaurants nearby. The house is all yours but I am generally around if you have any queries. Walk, ride, read or just kick back.

Strout Farm Cottage Est. 1842.

Strout Farm Cottage still belongs to the Strouts who have lived here for more than 180yrs. Starting with Richard Strout, there have been 7 generations of Strouts live in this cottage. Most of the furniture, photos and ornaments come with a story of where they fit in the Strout timeline. Additionally, there are more than 20 cellar doors within a 1.5km, including Leconfield, Wirra Wirra and Down The Rabbit Hole, this is the perfect location to explore the McLaren Vale wine region..
