Farm Stay in Antique Farmhouse

Our small farm, with its quintessential Vermont cape and little red barn, is down a quiet dirt road surrounded by 16 acres of fields and forest, with a spring-fed pond and breathtaking views of the fields and hills beyond. This is simple, old-fashioned country living, with worn, antique furnishings and a focus on enjoying nature and the present moment. Come visit the animals, sit in a rocking chair on the porch, relax in the hammock, have a campfire and don’t forget to look up at the stars!

Hubble Shire Farm French Queen Suite

An historic federal meets modern design with this impeccably resurrected home from 1832 situated just steps from the village greens of Chelsea, a quintessential Vermont town. All modern electrical, plumbing, bathrooms with all the historical charm of the 1830s. The French Queen features a queen hand carved bed, 19th century French commode and nightstands, elegant porcelains, a lounge chair and decorative fireplace and large private bath across the hall. A gourmet breakfast is included.

The large windows invite abundant natural light, offering views of our beautiful backyard where we have 8 acres of land that you are welcome to explore while staying with us. We offer breakfast from 7-9 am. You are welcome to use our microwave and store your food in the small fridge that is exclusively used by our guests.

Sugarbush and Mad River Glen are a 1/2 hour drive via the Roxbury Gap (snow tires and winter driving skills a must) or a 55 min drive via I-89, exit 9.

The Maplecroft Bed & Breakfast is located in the heart of downtown Barre VT, a short walk to restaurants and shopping. As the owner I would be happy to help with information about the area and I look forward to making your stay with us memorable and relaxing. There are many short day trips easily accessible from our location in Central Vermont. We use locally sourced ingredients for our hot homemade breakfast included with your stay.
