The Old Reading Room West Stafford, Dorset.

The Victorian Reading Room of West Stafford is of historical importance. Used before the war as a Reading Room for the villagers and estate workers, the newspapers were provided, the village shop in the late 1930s, then a workshop and a store room for the church. We have now lovingly restored, decorated and furnished this amazing building into a cosy self catering holiday retreat, "far from the madding crowd" Open plan, comfy double sofabed, wood burner, country walks and fabulous village pub.

We are so excited about our conversion. Completely self-contained, it is a lovely, light, cosy open space with a well equipped kitchen, modern bathroom and a cool sleeping platform/mezzanine. Piddlehinton is a special place, 20 mins from the Jurassic Coast and 10 mins from Dorchester, in the renowned Piddle Valley, with beautiful walks, views and our award winning pub, The Thimble Inn. We are right next door if you need anything, but if you prefer your privacy, you can be totally separate.

It has all the conveniences: Wood burning stove, underfloor heating, Washer & tumble dryer, Iron & ironing board, fast fibre optic broadband and a charging station for an electric or plug in hybrid car, but sadly the mobile phone signal is very poor. The house is next to the pub and a stones throw from the church. The Newt and Hauser Wirth Gallery in Bruton are within a 15 minute drive.

One of 2 huts, each with off road parking and shared access path down steps to private facilities. Located in a secluded spot behind our family home. A fully self contained hut including a double bed, kitchen with multi cooker, wood burner and en-suite bathroom including hot shower and state of the art composting toilet. A bespoke shepherd's hut, made by a local craftsman residing on rolling pasture of a forgotten turf maze and meeting place lost in time. Welcome to the first Troytown shepherd's hut, completed in June 2023. Located on Dorset's famous Jurassic Coastline it is the perfect base for exploring sandy beaches, historic monuments and plentiful walks in nearby Puddletown Forest.
