Calf cabin- Unique and beautiful farmstead!

Countryside getaway! If you want to experience something unique during your trip to Iceland this little house has been repurposed as guest house. On our farm it has always been called the Calf cabin, as it was used as a small barn and a stable in the past. On the outside we preserved the old rock laying and the architecture style but mixed old and new styles on the inside. We recycled and repurposed as much material as possible and we are pleased with the outcome. Now it is a cozy little suite.

The large panoramic front window lets you enjoy nature right from the bed: stunning sunrises, Northern Lights and views of the river, mountains and volcano Hekla. The house has a modern and well-equipped kitchen and a comfortable bathroom. !!Starting mid-June, a brand-new Jacuzzi with massage function and lighting will offer even more comfort!!

Áskot Cottages, Holiday Home at a Horse Ranch

Áskot Cottages offer self-catering vacation homes located on a Family run Horse Ranch in South Iceland. This property offers landscape views to Vestamannaeyjar, Eyjafjallajokull and view over a field with the farm´s horses. Each house is provided with a well-equipped kitchenette, dishwasher and a washer/dryer machine. Spacious Hekluhestar guesthouse on the farm

Our guesthouse was built by my parents, with the idea that it would be similar to the viking houses in the old days : a big open space, divided in three parts. It's nothing too fancy, but all basic necessities are here ! You also have access to two extra bathrooms and showers, and a sauna. The farm has horses, sheep, chicken and dogs roaming around ! The accommodation is strategically located, about one hour from Reykjavik, from the black sand beaches of Vik, and from the Golden circle.

They are both very private though it is just a stone’s throw away from the Ring Road. Excellent base for exploring the wonders of the South, for instance Gullfoss & Geysir, The Westmann Islands, the beautiful waterfalls along the south coast and The black beach in Vik.

The cottage offers a Home-away-from-Home environment which is a traveler's dream. WINTER SERVICE: We take care of all our guests and we clear the snow from the road as often as necessary! Many other accommodations do not offer this service.
