Au Sable River Getaway

One mile from the Mason Wilderness Tract, view eagles, deer and other wildlife out the front door, relax beside the peaceful South Branch of the Au Sable, a trout stream (catch and release, please), hunt in fall, enjoy cross-country skiing at several nearby trails including the 12-mile-long Mason Tract Trail, ski rentals, lessons and trails nearby. Make some memories at this unique family-friendly centennial farm house in the heart of Amish country. We are centrally located between Clare, Gladwin, Harrison, and Beaverton. We are about 25 miles to the Soaring Eagle Casino and 30 to Central Michigan University. Enjoy our cozy one bedroom home that also features a sleeping, reading and rocking porch. No pets please, but you may be greeted by our farm dog Hank!

The house is very comfortable and is ready for a relaxing stay in the woods. It's only 1 mile from South Higgins Lake State Park and Marl Lake, which are the best places around for swimming, fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing. It's a 12 min drive to Roscommon and a 20 min drive to Houghten Lake, where you can find anything you need or want, including more beaches and water sports.

The Dream and The Nightmare golf courses are just 10 minutes away! We even have a 50 amp RV/camper hookup if you have a camper and are needing extra space. We pride ourselves on maintaining a clean, modern home with a well-stocked kitchen.
