The Barn is situated seven miles from Lincoln and its Heritage Trail in the lovely village of Nocton. The walled garden is a secluded suntrap with rhubarb, figs, currants, raspberries and strawberries to share.
The Barn's interior is aglow with space and light. Floors of shining oak sweep from airy kitchen and dining at one end to wide leather chesterfields and flat-screen TV at the other, as an elegant spiral central stair breaks up the space. Blinds and curtains come in bright stripes and cheerful florals, sturdy oak beams soar above, and the hall's crafted coat and boot stand sets the tone: this is no run-of-the-mill renovation but a striking modern space. The bedroom is on the mezzanine – an up-in-the-eaves retreat, cosy and wonderfully romantic, with a superb mattress and a feather duvet (there's non-allergenic bedding if you prefer it). The high-spec, stone-floored shower room is downstairs, plus there are books, puzzles and DVDs, and a warm welcome for your dog(URL HIDDEN) Text courtesy of Alistair Sawdays.
