This is a country house built in the typical architectural style of this southern region of Portugal with a large chimney dating from 1748 and thick white (Website hidden by Airbnb) stands in a nice, private, completely enclosed garden with about 450m2.
It is a situated at a very calm village. Its oldest part was built in 1748. The house was rebuilt and reformed recently and now it displays all modern amenities and comfort. It has two bedrooms(1 with a double bed and another with a child bed and 2 single beds) and 2 living rooms with one sofa bed each. It has a fully equipped kitchen with meals zone, 2 bathrooms (one with bathtub and the other with shower) and a terrace. It has air conditioned. There is a parking place, garden furniture and bbc.
The property is situated at 20km from Évora, an ancient town, belonging to the World Heritage and it is also at a short distance from other places of touristic interest, like Estremoz, Vila Viçosa etc. And last but not the least, it is at 120Km from Lisbon (about 1 hour trip by highway).
Near the house, at a 3 minutes walk, you have a nice restaurant and a minimarket. Arraiolos, the main town, is at 1,5km distance, and there you have restaurants, chemists', bank agencies, 2 supermarkets and lots of traditional shops, a health centre and also a sportive complex with a nice swimming pool for grown ups and children(free for children
As I wrote before the place is very quiet. Accordingly to my guests opinion the main characteristic of the place is its quietness. It's an ideal place to rest. They also praise the restaurant near by where one can taste the delicious cuisine of the region Alentejo and its wines. this restaurant has take away service.
The house is situated in a very central (email hidden) from the highway and at 75 minutes by car from Lisbon. There is a train to Evora (20km away) There are buses and taxis but the best way to visit the region is by car. Guests can park their car inside the garden.
If I had to choose the best items in Alentejo I'd point out: its beautiful, calming and wide landscapes, its monuments and architecture, its cuisine and wines and I'd advise you to come and see for yourself!
