When all other reviews are 5 stars, it tells you more about this particular guest than the home itself. Renaud advised me of his concerns late at night after arriving. We had a cleaner there first thing the next morning to correct everything he mentioned, without charge, of course. It seemed more like he had a chip on his shoulder because I asked whether he had added all guests to the booking, rather than the house being flawed. (I was using a mobile device and the app version does not have the functionality for me to check that.) This very good cleaner admitted to forgetting about a chip bag on the washing machine. No real explanation; she just forgot to throw it away. The stainless steel dishwasher had some steam drips from the cycle that had just finished. She had wiped it down while the cycle was running, but missed wiping it again when she unloaded it. We try to be conscientious and rather than throw away perfectly good food, we leave condiments in the door for guests to use if they choose. If they don't want to, they don't have to. Lastly, we found no trace of broken glass, and believe me, we were extremely careful in looking. We take something like this seriously. Bottom line is that we really have no idea how it got there. It's not unfathomable that the guest brought the single small shard of glass in on their shoes (which we had asked them to remove, btw) The good news is that if these are the things that Renaud complained about, then you know that the sheets and towels must have been flawless. There must not have been a single stray hair. There must have been no dust bunnies, no cobwebs, no ants and no dust on the base boards. Yay for us! We will not be firing the cleaner for accidentally leaving a chip bag.
