Stefan and Daniela were great hosts! They responded to my questions in a timely manner and were very helpful and accommodating to make sure our stay would go well. Communication was great.
I was in San Diego for Comic Con so this apartment worked perfectly for us. it was a 10 minute walk to the convention center and all the restaurants and any nightlife was very easy to get to. A walk to CVS or Ralph's grocery store was also very easy and convenient for us.
If possible, I would recommend not bringing a car. I asked Stefan for suggestions for parking and he suggested stay far away from downtown, and he was right! We flew in (and the airport is very close, 10-15 min drive), but my friend was driving in from LA so he needed a place for his car. There are some paid 4 hour parking spots on the street in front of the apartments, but that is not very convenient or reliable. There are parking lots you can pay daily to park in, but because of the convention, it was very expensive and lots were very full.
The apartment itself was nice. It was clean and not a lot pf personal things to get in a visitor's way. They provided an air mattress for us if we wanted to use it, and many extra blankets, pillows and towels. We had access to their wifi and a nice tv. In the kitchen, you'll have your typical kitchenware--pots, pans, plates, etc. They provided a pack of water bottles for us, which was really great after all the walking we did, and they even got us a bottle of wine--a nice added bonus! One small thing I wasn't expecting (and I can't remember if this was said in the listing) but since the temperature in San Diego is about 75 degrees all the time, many places don't have or use air conditioning because they don't need to. The summers in Kansas are brutal, so I've gotten used to the feeling of walking into a building and feel immediately cooled. Even though there wasn't air conditioning, it didn't ruin my trip. It was not a problem for me because after a couple of minutes I felt fine. Many of the restaurants and stores are like this too. I just wanted to point this out for anyone that didn't know this.
If you read through this long review, good job! I like to try to be descriptive and answer any questions I might've had before to help the next person out. I would consider staying here again and recommend this place for anyone interested in hanging out in the downtown Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego. Stefan and Daniela are very easy to work with and are great hosts.
