We thank you for your kind words regarding the apartment.
Regarding the safety issue, you called us to say that you found a dirty cup of coffee in the dish-drying stand, and an unfamiliar stain on the kitchen cupboard, though thankfully nothing was stolen or out of place. It was very stressful for us as this has never happened before and the only two people who have the code to the house for safety reasons (both family members) confirmed that they did not enter the apartment during your entire stay.
The following morning our good friend came to change the entry code as we were unfortunately unavailable to come ourselves. We asked you if you want to chose your own code and you said it doesn’t matter to you, so I made up a new random combination. Of course we could not let you change the code yourself to whatever you chose because we have to know what it is in order to cancel it after you leave. Our electronic lock system is very safe and quite expensive. I change the code each time a guest leaves- which is like replacing the whole lock instead of just passing on a key that can be easily duplicated. Our apartment is filled with personal belongings and keeping it safe and our guests safe is definitely in our interest.
You were our guest for more than a month and despite the fact that we don’t know each other, we chose to believe you that neither you nor your partner, whom you gave the code to, left that coffee cup out of place. We offered to compensate you with a generous refund however you didn’t respond to our returning offer. We are sorry this is how it ended between us and wish you well and pleasant future trips.
