Chickadee Cabin offers cozy and convenient lodging that is on the Appalachian Trail and just five to ten minutes walking distance from Hot Springs' restaurants, shops, and mineral tubs. The perfect romantic getaway for couples who want to experience the rustic Appalachian Mountains but still have WiFi and a jetted tub to return back to!

O Espaço

Just a few minutes’ walk or drive to downtown Hot Springs and a one minute walk from the Appalachian Trail’s entry into Hot Springs, Chickadee Cabin offers excellent convenience while still remaining secluded and peaceful on a quiet street tucked into the woods.

Wake up to the birds singing out back and enjoy a fresh morning cup of coffee on the covered porch, or meander in to town on the Appalachian Trail for a day exploring Hot Springs’ restaurants, local crafts, rafting and more. The cabin is within a few minutes’ drive of Hot Springs Spa where you can take a dip in a natural-fed hot tub, or stay home for a romantic evening complete with a two-person indoor Whirlpool jetted tub.

This is an ideal cabin for a couple wanting a mountain retreat while remaining close to all that Hot Springs has to offer. There are two single beds available in main room if the kids or your friends will be joining!

Chickadee Cabin is outfitted with a kitchenette. This includes a coffee maker (of course!), a coffee bean grinder, a mini-fridge/freezer, a sink, a set of basic plates, bowls, and utensils, a cutting board, knife, and crock-pot. There is no oven or stove in this kitchenette.

On the porch there is a Weber charcoal grill for burgers and veggies!

There is a television as well as over 100 DVDs to choose from. We do not have cable TV.

We pride ourselves on our VERY CLEAN cabin. Just check out our reviews!

LINENS AND SOAPS
All linens (towels, washcloths, sheets, dish cloths) are provided. Bath bars and hand soaps are also included.

INTERNET
We've got WiFi! We have the best WiFi that is possible to get at our location, BUT it is satellite internet and is affected by the weather and heavy usage times in the county. Do expect to be able to browse the web, but do not expect to be able to stream movies or music. Sometimes it will, and sometimes it won't!

AIR CONDITIONING
Yes! We do have air conditioning to keep you cool on hot summer days.

HEAT
Yes! We have a remote control operated mini-split heating system to keep you warm on even the coldest winter days. Original baseboard heat is present as well for additional warmth if desired.

2 WHEEL DRIVE ACCESSIBLE
The cabin is on a well-maintained state road and the approach and parking is flat, so it is accessible by two wheel drive vehicles in all but the most severe of storms!

TWO NIGHT minimum stay for reservations including a weekend night (Friday and Saturday). ONE NIGHT minimum stay offered for Sunday-Thursday nights. Weekend one night weekend stays will be accepted if the day is "stranded" (rented the night before and night after) or if it 4 days or less from your desired check-in date.

ADJACENT CABIN
Chickadee shares a wall with an adjacent cabin (Goldfinch). Each cabin has its own private parking and private entrance. Shared wall is soundproofed for privacy.

Chickadee is pet-friendly! Mostly we expect dogs, but cats may be welcome as well. If your pet is not house friendly (chewing, scratching, general chaos and destruction...) we ask that you kindly leave them elsewhere OR bring a kennel for their time in the house. A $15 pet fee covers up to two pets for the entire duration of your stay. This fee is not automatically included by AirBNB in the reservation cost. Thank you for being honest and letting us know about your pet! You will be invoiced separately after your reservation is confirmed.

Our family had a great stay at the chickadee cottage. Natalie made us feel right at home. Our young kids loved the cozy sleeping arrangement and big bathtub. The garden is great with lots of morning birds. The place is close to some great hikes and the spa. Be sure to check out the laurel river store on your way in or out of town too

Cozy, unique and very obvious that Natalie has taken the time to create a warm and inviting space. Loved the flowers on the walk in. Even though it borders a side street, the the area is very quiet and it's right across the street from the App. Trail. Natalie was very accommodating with checkout and very quick in responding to emails. Hope to stay here again!

Sweet cottage on a hillside in the trees. Very clean, pretty and private in spite of being in town. Beautiful herb garden, comfortable bed, lots of linens!...a really professional little gig but with a family feel. I visited in late summer so didn't take advantage of the jacuzzi tub in the bedroom overlooking the wooded hillside, as the weather cools I bet it would be an amazing, romantic soak. Natalie is lovely and generous, and an excellent communicator. I highly recommend!

Natalies Chick-a-dee cabin is clean, comfortable and ideally located for those of you looking for a place to stay in Hot Springs, NC. The Appalachian Trail and downtown area are just a short walk away from the cabin. You can relax on the porch and barbecue a burger or enjoy the bathrooms tub with its jet sprays. Maybe you can take your time and view her flower garden as you stroll on the walkway leading to her cabin. My stay was active with hiking and walking around in town. It was also relaxing with reading, a visit to the hot tub and finally a Swedish massage with Glenda right across the street (again in walking distance). Enjoy!!!

I grew up in the much rockier Rocky Mountains of Colorado, raising goats, chickens, rabbits, horses, and a rotating selection of other farm critters with my parents and my younger sister. I moved to North Carolina in 2009 and have spent much of my time gardening, studying wild …
