Charming carriage house on very private 8 acres overlooking Walnut Pond. The long driveway takes you past our small vineyard, a log cabin built in 1789 and across Little Nishisakawick Creek. The carriage house is bright & cozy with lovely views & private patio great for nature watching. We live in the adjacent converted barn. 2 miles from historic Frenchtown on the Delaware River, close to Bucks County with a great variety of restaurants, miles of towpath & old river towns to explore.
The Carriage House is a self-contained cottage with two bedrooms upstairs, one queen and a double twin. Very luxurious bedding with Siberian goose down comforters in the winter. Taller folk need to watch out for the low, sloping ceiling at the top of the stairs so as not to bump your head!
Downstairs is the living room with gas fired pot-belly stove, full size futon sofa, armchair and desk. There is a door to the newer bathroom. Tho open plan leads to the fully equipped kitchen/diner with gas stove, new fridge, new dishwasher, new microwave, drip filter coffee maker etc. Washer & dryer in the laundry room. The kitchen opens out onto the patio overlooking the pond. There is a picnic table for 4, Weber charcoal BBQ, party lights &, in the summer, a busy hummingbird feeder ...
There is a signed parking space for 2 cars outside the front door

Interação com hóspedes
We are usually present to welcome guests, show you in, where things are & how things like the fireplace works, unless a prior arrangement has been made. We live in the adjacent barn, so are on hand to help out in any way. The Carriage House is very tranquil so, even though we're more that happy to socialize, we leave our guests in peace. It is helpful to get together when checking out to learn how your visit went & hear any suggested improvements
Outras coisas a ter em conta
The Carriage House is quiet & rural. This is the countryside with an enormous variety of wildlife to observe, the good, the bad & the ugly!
There are plenty of uneven surfaces, and water features, so young children should be accompanied outside at all times.
- There is a small pond on the property as well as creeks. Small children should not be left unattended when outside.
- In case of heavy snow, the 600-foot driveway may become impassable for several days.
- we are in a very natural, rustic setting so you should expect to see a lot of wildlife, from eagles & bats above to turtles & voles below
