I and my wife are absentee homeowners of a custom one story, all redwood, two bedroom, two and one half bathroom single family residence located on a hill overlooking a 220 acre organic agricultural land conservancy with a panoramic view over an adjacent two-acre pinot noir vineyard, the opposite redwood and eucalyptus tree ridge, and the Branchiforte River Valley down to the Pacific Ocean and downtown Santa Cruz, California about six miles away.
This is our family estate property originally built in 1978. It has a detached two-bedroom mother-in-law unit that is leased to a long time friend and property caretaker. The fully furnished residence includes new carpeting, a massive stone fireplace, Wi-Fi, complete kitchen with stainless steel refrigerator, dishwasher, double electric ovens, a four-burner propane gas stovetop, in sink disposal, filtered water system, complete laundry facilities with sink, built in wet bar, vaulted redwood beam ceilings, built-in bookcases, a tank-less on demand water heater, complete forced-air heating and air-conditioning, massive covered perimeter decks, fenced grass yard, septic system waste, and Dish Network satellite television. This is a rural "country" home serviced by Cardiff Pest Control, and includes a two-car attached automatic door garage with built-in work benches and cabinets.
I am a retired absentee owner who is a wheelchair bound amputee (left leg and a portion of my right hand), who uses the residence two to three months out of the year for vineyard overseer and grape harvesting which is managed by Coastal Range Vineyards. My son, who is graduating this May from the University of Nevada, Reno, will likely move to Santa Clara this summer and take over vineyard and house management.
With my limited physical condition, I enjoy the occasional use of this family country residence, am a huge movie fan, sports fan, and extensive reader. I enjoy especially, the privacy and peacefulness of this Santa Cruz property which is owned in common by twenty partners who each have one residence on the 220 acres.
