A private, secluded fully equipped holiday cottage set at the foot of the Preseli Hills in Pembrokeshire, with spectacular views towards the highest point in the county and walks to the National Park right from your front door. Danclawdd was converted in 2013 from a stone built Welsh longhouse; a longhouse was a traditional one-roomed property usually on a farm and this one dates back to approx 17th century. Now, the cottage has all the comforts of a modern space yet with charm and individuality. Wooden floors, local artwork on the walls and the option of local food hampers all contribute to make your stay more comfortable.
The totally self-contained accommodation is located next door to the owners' Welsh stone cottage, at the end of a private track with zero traffic noise and pitch black skies perfect for star gazing or astro-photography. It offers a bright, airy cooking/dining/living space complete with Swedish log burner for chillier evenings. There will be a basket of logs to start you off (2-3 burns) then we can offer further supplies for £10.00 for mix logs/kindling or they can be bought at the village shop/garage.
There is a spacious bedroom with king sized bed and a bathroom with thermostatically controlled shower over the bath. All linen is provided apart from beach towels. We also offer oil fired central heating, free wi-fi and a supply of sundries to get you started on your holiday. The cottage has a washing machine, dishwasher, cooker/hob, microwave, nespresso machine, kettle, toaster and a full range of crockery and cooking utensils. It is all located on one level so is very easily accessible. I live on the smallholding with my husband and our 3 cats so am on hand if you need me for any issues.

On site but only if required - very happy to advise on walks, places to visit, places to eat, how to get to different locations and give you some options that you might not have thought of! We try not to bother guests unless you need us but we also love to share our experience of the county with you and also find out more about the people who have come to stay - we like to meet new folks!
Outras coisas a ter em conta
Danclawdd is accessed down a traditional Pembrokeshire country track from the main road through Maenclochog village; vehicles with very low suspension may find this track challenging but it is perfectly accessible in a standard vehicle (I drive a lowish VW which deals with things just fine!)
Currently no pets as we are situated in the heart of sheep farming country and the cottage lies in our gardens, and does not have a secure area for dogs.
Cottage has ample room for a travel cot within the bedroom.
