Relax and unwind in warm southwestern comfort nestled in the giant cottonwood and sycamore trees along Bear Creek Canyon and soak up some of New Mexico's 280+ days of sunshine annually. Average rain fall is between 9 and 13 inches - compared to the national average of 38 inches. At 4800 feet elevation, our summers are a little easier and our winters comfortably warmer. This is southwest winter weather folks up north flock to revel in and flock to enjoy. The Agave Log Cabin is fully furnished with everything you'll need and loaded with plenty of rustic charm. From your covered deck, enjoy morning sunrises or evening sunsets sipping your favorite beverage as you rock under a tin roof covered deck. Experience the peace and quiet of an area still rural and relatively untouched by urban influences.

Here, the pace is slower, more relaxed. Hikers will enjoy exploring Mother Nature's trails leading to stunning vistas found at the top of Double E Ranch Trail. Once at the top, you'll be looking into 4,700 square miles of expansive, pristine beauty - the Gila National Forest. Just beyond your cabin door, Bear Creek meanders slowly for nearly 2 miles through this private property, finally converging with the Gila River in the Village of Gila. With more than 250 recorded sightings of both native and migratory species, birding opportunities are limitless here and in other locations nearby! Dark star filled New Mexico skies are perfect for star gazing or simply holding hands.

For those who appreciate the history of the Old West, the Agave Cabin at Double E Ranch proudly offers guests a rare opportunity to take a brief glimpse into southwest New Mexico ranching lifestyle where several structures and corrals built 120 years ago are still being used. The Agave Log Cabin offers the perfect spot to experience the character and atmosphere of a era gone while absorbing the magical vistas afforded by southwest New Mexico.

A convenient weekend get-away in a romantic setting with someone special, or an extended vacation stay, this sizable vacation cabin features many comforts and conveniences. Free wi-fi ensures connectivity for streaming a movie, music or a working vacation. Apologies -- no local network or satellite or cable TV stations. The over sized living room boasts a plush leather Futon that doubles as a second bed if needed, hand crafted maple and re-purposed 'farm implement' lamp tables. The large bedroom has a queen bed with luxury cotton bedding, a vintage farmhouse armoire, a dresser and mirror from the 1930's, and an antique desk. This cabin has a full bathroom, with shower and tub, and is comfortably equipped with radiant, in-floor heat, perfect for chilly winter mornings as well as air conditioning for warmer months.

The compact kitchen, with an adjoining dinning area that seats 4, has new full sized appliances including dishwasher, refrigerator, gas range/oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and BBQ grill with charcoal. For your convenience, the pantry is supplied with complimentary items such as gourmet spices, condiments, spices, sugar, coffee creamer, tea, cooking oil and spray, pasta, rice, microwave popcorn, canned meat chunks, foil. A few miles from your cabin you'll find our local convenience store/gas station. They are stocked with fresh dairy products, eggs, ice cream, bread, canned fruits and vegetables, frozen meat, lunch meat, soda, snacks - open 7 days a week.

To make your stay even more enjoyable, the Agave Guest House includes flat screened TV, DVD player, extensive DVD library, in-house telephone. Even in our remote valley location, if your cellphone is wi-fi compatible (check your settings), you will receive wi-fi cell service at your cabin.

If you are ready to experience the natural beauty of New Mexico, the Agave Log Guest House at New Mexico Cabin Rentals is an ideal spot to begin. Everywhere you turn, you’ll be amazed by the scenery. Bring your binoculars! Wildlife is abundant. Roadrunners, wild turkeys, deer, golden eagle, black hawk, jackrabbits, and javelinas are pretty standard fare.

This part of Southwestern New Mexico encompasses some of the most remote, and pristine land in the U.S. The terrain ranges from rugged mountains and deep canyons to mesas and semi-desert. Our private 17 acres include access to Bear Creek, which feeds into the Gila River. Here, you'll find an extraordinary, privately protected riparian sanctuary, home to black hawks, falcons, hundreds of migratory and indigenous birds as well as spectacular views. Hikers will marvel at the climb to the top of "Turtle Rock" aka Apache Corral, from where you can see all the way to the Arizona border! We adjoin 6500 acres of New Mexico State land, which flows directly into the 3 million acre Gila National Forest and Gila Wilderness area.
Our vacation home rentals are affordable and all conveniently located 3.5 miles east of the quaint Village of Gila and a short 7-mile drive across the Gila River to the town of Cliff. We are 30 miles northwest of historic Silver City, once a booming mining town, and now a vibrant community promoting the arts, business, commerce, and tourism.
