The room is super cute and clean with comfortable bed. The house comes with two little dachshunds that want to give love if you want to receive it. Or if you want your space, you can close your door and and leave them to cuddle with each other. Shared bathroom. You have full privileges of kitchen, living room and front yard with fire pit and outdoor furniture. Guests are encouraged to feel as comfortable as if it were your own home.
Your dachshund themed room is private, with a window to open for an ocean breeze. This is a dog-lover's paradise, that comes stock with two live doxies to pet, as well!
The room is carpeted. The bed is brand new and the mattress is super comfortable.
There is a large closet and ceiling fan in your room. There is also an air conditioning unit In your room (please turn off when you leave to conserve energy).
If the house is hot when you arrive, simply open a couple of windows for that ocean breeze and in 10 minutes, it should be very comfortable!
The shared bathroom has a full tub and shower. It is cute and clean and there is an empty drawer and shelf for your use, should you choose to take advantage of it.
I have a guitar in the living room that you are welcome to play!
I have Netflix in the living room with a guest profile for your use. You're welcome to watch that while you're here.

Feel free to do laundry or cook a meal (please clean up after yourself). Feel free to chat or to hang in your room and do your own thing. Use the living room, dining room, back patio (not much to do out there, but maybe you'll find something!), front yard, and fire pit.
There is street parking usually right outside, but when street parking is full in the evenings, you'll find something very close by… As in, less than one block. NOTE: there is street sweeping on some Mondays. Please pay attention to the signs on the street for when parking is prohibited. Parking is still available within a few blocks even during street sweeping.
Early check in/late check out is usually a possibility. Please just let me know your plans and I'll see if I can accommodate.
Interação com hóspedes
I'm a high school teacher, so I'm usually gone during the day. However, even while I'm out or at work, I'm always available by text.
When I'm home, I will interact with you as much as, or as little as you would like. I'm happy to give you space if you want, or I'm game to share a bottle of wine and talk. I tend to be very busy at times, but I do enjoy people, so I am always up for a conversation if you are.
I will occasionally have a friend over for a visit, and sometimes a friend may be staying with me for a day or two (using an air mattress in my room).
Finally, please note that my 2 dogs are currently in the Mini-Host Training Program, and will do their best to be good hosts-in-training, but they may occasionally act a little un-host-like by putting their noses in your business. Therefore, please don't hesitate to communicate if for any reason, they are bothering you. When I'm out, I baby-gate the pupps in their hallway oasis and close all the room doors. This keeps the pupps from sitting in windows and barking or getting into other mischief. Their dog-nanny fills in for my absence for walks every day.
If you chose to let dogs out to hang with you, please attempt to baby-gate them in their hallway again (and close room doors) when you leave. They really are happiest there.
Outras coisas a ter em conta
There will be some simple breakfast and snack items on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. Help yourself. Also, in the kitchen, there is a space on the countertop which will be labeled for you to take from as well.
Please check the top drawer of the nightstand in your room for essentials and take what you need. If you need anything else, let me know and I will try to accommodate you.
My dogs are rescues and will bark when you arrive, whether I'm home or out. Please just talk sweetly to them and offer your hand to sniff and they'll warm up to you quickly. They are little guys so my house won't smell like dogs! (Note: they are afraid of people in hats and sunglasses and can bark more and get agitated. Try taking your hat off and squatting down to show them you're not a threat. The dogs are not very good with small children...sorry).
Please be quiet from 11pm to 7am and I will do the same. If you plan to go to bed early, or sleep in late, you only have to let me know and I will be happy to honor an extended quiet time so you can rest.
Please be courteous to my neighbors if you see them.
Please only smoke outside and away from windows. Like, maybe across the street or a few blocks away! Just kidding.
Feel free to use any space inside or out, except my bedroom.
Friends visiting is okay with notice (a text is fine). Please always clean up after yourself.
Please help yourself to the complimentary breakfast and snack items on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator, but please don't eat the other items in the fridge.
RULES REGARDING MY DOGS:
I invented a through-the-window-doggy door for the little guys, so please close the front gate FIRMLY so nobody wanders into the street!!
Please, no people food for my dogs, ever. They have sensitive stomachs. Mamma-approved treats are in the glass owl on black countertop!
Finally, enjoy them while you're here, but please don't take them home with you (I know you will want to)! They are not complementary like the toothbrushes and mini- shampoos are!
A few tips: don't lean over dogs to say hi; bend down and offer your hand and speak in soft/sweet voice. They may bark more if you wear a hat and sunglasses to greet them. Please be sweet to them, give mama-approved treats to them, and they will melt your heart in response.
Visiting dogs are okay on a donation basis. Small dogs are best, but willing to have big dogs if they are calm (my dog, Yoda will bark more at big dogs). If you will be needing to leave your dog at my home during the day, that can be arranged on a donation basis (I have done dog boarding in the past). Please be patient with my sweet rescues, as they get used to having yours here.
Sorry, no cats, and absolutely no 8-legged pets! I have put a cap on the amount of legs visitors or their pets should have. Most other leg-counts are welcome. I'll be happy to watch your fish for you while you go out, free of charge!
Also, finally, please keep your drugs and other shenanigans at home. A few drinks is fine tho...this is Mercia after all. Friends visiting should follow the same rules, and I will need a heads up if more than one or two friends plan to drop by. Thank you.
All creeds, races, diverse backgrounds, etc, are welcome. Like I said, I like people! Come and be welcome here! I'm happy to meet you!
I am a teacher, a dog-mom, and an uber driver. I love using airbnb myself because the experience is more to my liking than large hotels. And I enjoy when people visit me from out of town or come by for a cup of coffee, so it was a natural shift for me to list my spare bedroom to travelers. I'm excited to meet different people, while I am happy to leave you to do your own thing if you're busy or needing quiet.
I teach at a high school for at risk youth; I get to teach English and Science, and I have to say, my days are never dull! I enjoy dancing, music, singing, and reading. I am good natured and love to laugh. My dogs, Layla and Yoda, and I are happy to have you stay in our home!
My dogs are sweet dachshunds and would love to smell you and get pets. I will be home almost every day in the summer, and will take care of all my dog's needs. And until the end of the school year, I have a dog walker coming by each day at noon so they shouldn't bother you at all.
