Excelente experiência de check-in

This is an attic loft (room) with 2 beds and recently updated hardwood floors (even though pic shows carpet). You rent the whole room. It is ideal for 2 or 3 people who will spend day time at the university. AC is now installed for summer months. Free umbrellas, free printing, free bikes, free day storage for guests!

Quiet, cosy, ideal for Yale visitors. The room is part of a Victorian home that has been a welcoming spot for Yalies for last 4 years. It is not a hotel. It is a lived-in space & has many visitors. If you are expecting a hotel, this is not it.

O espaço
Note: Lilly Pad has 5 rooms, is for students and is no frills. If you are a party of 2, select 2 guests. So you share common space with others. Plus we have 7 Bengal Cats and their kittens that live outside the house in their own housing chambers but you will see their supplies around the back or front yard. Other student guests staying here may make your stay good, great or not so good. It depends who books. So if you are not a student, or have a problem putting on your own bedsheets, or stripping them at checkout, or have a problem with students storing their luggage or me crashing out in living room at times, or have any issues with the detailed instructions I send after you book, talk to me first or do not book. I do not want a 4 star review because you were not made aware of what to expect here. Skip the review or please do not book if your expectations are different.

Check in anytime. Just follow self checkin process. Any questions or anything pls feel free to call or text. We have lot of guests and its difficult to manage expectations especially for non yalie visitors as house is really geared for no frill Yalies. Room has 100 percent privacy.

NOTE: Room has an extremely comfortable queen and a reasonable twin bed. But it is loft (attic) room. It is ideal for two or three people who want to be close to Yale and do not mind walking two flights of steps.

AC is installed in the room which you will need in June and July and August. Cost of booking room includes use of A.C. Fans are also provided.

2 minutes walk to restaurants, bars and Yale, free bikes available to guests, free washer dryer with free laundry detergents, high speed wifi.

Please read check-in instructions once you have booked. House has foolproof security system/codes and security cameras.

Please be advised that window fans with screens are provided.

Parking is free, openly available outside the house on street. No need for permit. I have one spot for off-street parking available.

Cleanliness and organization is important but please keep in mind sometimes because of people checking in, checking out, cooking, studying, typing, printing assignments, house gives a "lived-in" look. Price is lower than what comparable homes ask. But if you are for immaculate cleanliness a hotel is probably a better option (at 3 times the cost).

Also note, when in town, I often end up crashing out in the living room couch - full disclosure. House has a lived-in look. You will see residents luggage in living room or people coming in and out.

Noise: There may be 3 potential sources of noise. (1) Street people and downtown cars playing loud music. There is nothing that can be done about this. It comes with living downtown close to Yale. (2) Next door neighbors playing music. There is a New Haven City Ordinance that requires peace and quiet after 9 pm. If you encounter annoying music played by neighbors, read my printed instructions regarding making a noise complaint with the New Haven police printed in the hallway/stairs and make the complaint call. (3) Other Guests talking loudly in the house. Remember you are one of the several guests staying. So if someone talks loudly and you find it disturbing, please either tell me or talk to the loud guest and let him/her know to keep it down. These things are beyond my control, as I have open booking on Air BnB. Therefore do not book if you expect a library environment. I don't need a 4 star review based on sounds that are not in my control.

Note on Clutter:
Free Storage provided to guests on main floor adds to the clutter. Additionally there is always some element of improvements taking place on premises. This place is for Yale students and no frills travelers who are looking for budget and safe travel options at Yale. There is no clutter on 2nd and 3rd floors, where the rooms are located. Also, if instructions on self checkin scare you, please do not book. Watch the self checkin video. Security and guidelines help all. Hence the elaborate instructions you get when you book.

Cameras & Security at Yale:
Please note Yale has iffy neighborhoods. I have EXTERNAL security cameras. So if you have an issue with external security cameras, pls do not book. Specifically, 2 EXTERNAL security cameras (in front and back of house), a Security System with motion sensor on ground floor. No sensors/cameras on 2nd/3rd floors.

I have a cosy little home called the Lilly Pad which is second house off of Elm Street. I host Yale students and have been doing that for a few years. I also home Bengal cats. So you may get to meet my Bengals but be assured they live in a separate space from the main house. So no worries about any feline allergies. If you are a Bengal enthusiast or curious about breeding them, please search Brooklyn Bengals on YouTube to see them on a catwheel! Guests have access to their keyed room, washer dryer with basic laundry detergents, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge television, high speed wireless Internet and bicycles to get around town. If you see my calendar blocked and are looking for something short or long term I may still have other stay options available. Inquire.
