Two years ago three locals purchased a beautiful old house with a storied history on half an acre in midcity. We recently completed a year-long project to turn this blighted house into an eight suite guesthouse - "Campeche" - to welcome visitors to our favorite city in the world. We are centrally located and just one block away from the Lafitte Greenway bicycle trail.
Originally built in the early 1900s and left in disrepair after Hurricane Katrina, Campeche is a labor of love by a small group of locals living nearby. Purchased in the spring of 2015, a full renovation gave us eight beautiful suites, a charming common space with kitchen (still not quite finished), and two large porches sitting on half an acre right in the middle of the city.
