About the towels and bathroom mat, I'm not sure how either of them were drenched in water after just one night, especially the bathroom mat that you gave us to replace. From what my co-host mentioned to me, the likely reason for both being drenched after he came in to replace the mat after the first night was that you brought slippers into the shower and didn't allow the water to drain out of them first before stepping out causing lots of water to be absorbed by the mat constantly. As for the towels, I can't say for sure but I use those towels as well and just hanging them in the bathroom allows it to dry by the next day. I think it may be for the same reason the mat was drenched after the first night. John had recommended to you that if the towels weren't drying fast enough for some reason, to have them hanged out on the rack we provide in the closet and set them in the living room during the day with the windows open before you head out as that week the temperature was in the 80's. He wasn't told about any smell but had also let you know of laundromat around the corner and down one block that is available 24/7. The towels don't normally have any scent after taking a shower so I'm not sure why it had one during your stay, nor did it have any scent according to John when he came into the apartment after you left to check the place. I would perhaps recommend making sure to use the bathroom fan during your showers to filter out the steam so it doesn't get absorbed by the towels as well as allowing as much of the water to drain out of your slippers and hair before drying. Regarding my neighborhood, I can understand that feeling of being in an unfamiliar location and not feeling at ease. However, the neighborhood is a very diverse area that is home to a large variety of people of many backgrounds. I'm not sure what you meant by the subway station being very suspect and the feeling of insecurity there but I can assure you nearly all the subway stations across the city are very much alike. In fact our station is very well maintained as well as having a station official there 24/7 for assistance. There is also consistent maintenance here every weekend as it is a major stop in Brooklyn, being an express stop into a residential neighborhood.
