A leisurely 550 meter stroll takes you down the the village & golden sandy beach of Praia das Macas.
This cottage was once a quarryman’s home and has now been completely renovated although respecting the traditional look and feel. It has 1 bedroom, a kitchen-dinner, a lounge area and one bathroom, out side It has its own private courtyard with a barbecue

Guests have use of the full house and courtyard garden & BBQ, with super fast fibre optic Wi-fi throughout (50mb down - 5 mb up, perfect if you have a blog or website to update, or even some pesky work to catch up on)
In the garden, there's 2 comfy sun loungers with padded covers, a dining set of table and 2 chairs with padded covers, and a charcoal BBQ with all the tools required for use.
Inside - 1 double bedroom with crisp 100% cotton bed linen and towels, bedside tables and hanging storage rails.

Lounge - Comfy 2 seater sofa, nice quality Hi-fi with radio - CD player and 3.5mm headphone line in socket (cable always included)

There is a fantastic little convenience store that sell fresh fruit & vegetables, groceries including alcohol just 200 meters from the doorstep.
The main village centre and golden sandy beach is just 550 meters away, here you will find a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, bistro's, takeaway food, pizza, butchers, bakers and a fresh produce and fish market.

Hi, My name is Ralph Mason, I'm a '40 something’ year old English man that lives in Colares with my beautiful Portuguese wife, Ana. Renting holiday properties is my full time job and i have been doing so since (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) via other platforms and my own website (it's the reason we moved to Portugal) and I have decided to start listing my 5 properties on Airbnb as from July (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) I'm going to start slowly and just list my smallest house 'Casa da Olga' & my biggest "Casal de Santa Maria" to begin with and then add the other 3 after becoming accustom to Airbnb. All of my properties are either owned by myself and my wife Ana, or are managed exclusively on behalf of investors (Stuart & Diego) All my properties are of course registered nationally, but in addition, they have all independently been granted "Sintra Inn" membership from the local town council, it's a physical inspection covering, Quality, legal conformity and safety, We are especially proud of this as only a few dozen properties in the Sintra area have been awarded. You - Everyone has a story, that's the best part of my job ! It's nice to meet people from all over the globe. Me - I’m a cyclist and a photographer ! Of course i do have other hobbies and interests such as motor bikes, snowboarding (when i get the chance), flying kites, holiday travel and music, But it’s Cycling and Photography that really are my passions. Enduro MTB being my 1st love, and were lucky to have tons & tons of it right from our doorstep ! non of this “drive to car to a riding spot” nonsense required here ! Down hill MTB - I feel a little old to really ‘let the monster out of the bag’ but it’s still a nice bit of kit to have in the stable and take out once in a while to scare myself. Road biking - Middle age in man in Lycra ! laugh it all the way to the bank, but it’s a great way to keep base fitness, Sintra is a very hilly area and it’s very easy to gain a lot of vertical meters in few km’s If your staying with me, and bring your own bike or rent one from my friends cycle hire shop were bound to go for a spin round the hill ! #OlhodoBife is my vanity (Hidden by Airbnb) account. “"Did you take a photo, or just shoot "content" for your digital mash up ? All my photos are straight off the camera, (minimal colour and tonal correction) or I just can't love it, straight in the bin, you get my drift???”” Camera snobbery is possibly more prevalent than bike snobbery and don’t get me wrong, i’m very partial to the ‘goes click like a glock’ feel of a good quality DSLR with some L series glass bolted on the front, but i am vey much signed up to the school of thought that the ‘best camera you own is the one in your hand’ and i really do carry something all the time ! Some of my favourite photos have been taken with a simple point and shoot rather than my fancy DSLR. Long exposure photography is a technique I really enjoy, normally i’m a very fidgety person and find it difficult to sit down for more than 5 minutes at time unless theres a glass of wine in my hand, but there's something very rewarding about the set up and “unknown" results of long exposure. 5 things i choose not to live without…In no particular order. 1: My dogs, Iggy - a pure bred Weimaraner, and boy does he know it ! And Muttley, A street dog that just came home with me one day, he wasn’t cut out for life on the streets and really wanted a home, he is very kind and loyal & loves his 2 cats 2: Ana - my ’so called life’ would not be the same without her. 3: 10 stop ND filter - like taking photos though welding goggles, lots of fun. 4: The contents of the ‘Man Cave’ this of course need no explanation. 5: I’m leaving this one blank as you never know whats coming next or just around the corner in life. I’ve never actually rented an Airbnb, but this is bound to change soon. When you rent any of my properties you will be greeted in person with a cheery warm welcome and a basket of fresh local produce, Fresh fruit, biscuits, crisps, milk, tea & coffee, that kind of thing, along of course with a bottle of wine. I’ll get the legal formalities of checkin finished as soon as possible, then if you wish, spend some time with you talking you though the very best places to visit, things to do, best current restaurants etc etc. All of my properties are very established and have been fitted out with holiday makers in mind, so it’s very unlikely that you will have any problems with the property, but just in case you do, you will be given my personal mobile phone number, this number is answered 24hr’s a day, also all the properties have very fast and stable Wi-fi so you can use the Airbnb messenger app. Problems would be dealt with very quickly as this is my full time job and we live just 5kms away from all of the properties. It's good to talk, and any questions before or during your stay will be answered quickly. I look forward to meeting you. Ralph

I live 5 kms away from the cottage, and while I will be greeting you at check in, and waving you off at departure in person, you will of course be given total privacy during your stay and you will not see me.
