In the heart of the Somerset Levels, yet easily accessed from the M5 and A303, this self contained annexe is ideal for exploring the region or for work. Located in the village of Curry Rivel, you are in walking distance of convenience stores, garage, post office, tea room and two pubs - serving food, ales and cider. The ancient town of Langport is under 2 miles away and Glastonbury, Wells and Taunton within easy reach.

O espaço
The Annexe is a completely self contained space, with off road parking for one vehicle immediately outside. On entering there is room to hang coats and remove shoes. The bedroom has recently been extended and decorated, with a king size bed, hanging rail and under bed storage you should be very comfortable. A roof window with an electronic opening and closing mechanism lets light in, with a blind for night time. One door leads from the bedroom to the ensuite shower room and another to a corridor through which the cosy kitchen/ sitting room can be reached. This is a sunny, south facing room overlooking the garden. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to prepare meals. There is an iron, washing machine, airer. Broadband and Sky TV freely available. Guests have access to a patio area designated to the annexe, they are welcome to use the clothes line and storage of bikes can be arranged if needed.

Access is through the front door of the annexe. There is a key safe so guests can arrive without us being here.
The back door of the annexe leads to a patio area and the main house's garden where guests can hang washing. There is also rear access for bike storage in a locked garage should that be required.

Outras coisas a ter em conta
We have a small, friendly dog who runs freely in the back garden. She might be a bit barky initially, but just wants to welcome you! She cannot access the annexe patio so is always at a distance!

The property is in the village of Curry Rivel, it is set back from the main road with off road parking to the front. The village is well served by a pub, cafe, small shops and a church - all in walking distance along pavements.
From the rear of the property you can walk across fields to the village pub in Drayton and on into Langport where there are a choice of eateries and places of interest e.g. the Shakspeare Glass, Arts and Craft Centre. If you prefer it is a 2 mile drive to the centre of Langport where parking is free. Taunton, Glastonbury, Sherborne and Wells are in easy reach as are the north and south coast; the popular seaside and fishing port of Lyme Regis on the Jurassic coast being a 34 mile drive. Other nearby attractions include the Willows and Wetlands Centre, Quantock Hills, Exmoor, Cider farms, West Somerset Steam Railway and Clarks Village. There are several National Trust properties nearby, notably Barrington and Montecute. Hestercombe House with its beautiful and extensive gardens are also open to the public. The local area can be enjoyed on foot or by bike with the lowland Somerset moors, hamstone villages and historic market towns to explore.

NB We are a 10-15 min walk from the wedding venue Old Oak Farm on Back Lane, incase that's significant to you - bring a torch!

We've recently taken early retirement and moved back to Somerset after living in Berkshire for many years. We have two grown up sons, both with children of their own. Chris has had various careers from corporate IT work to being a self employed sparky. He loves music and enjoys the blues in particular. Helen worked as a primary school teacher, she loves gardening, sewing and craft and generally has several creative projects on the go! We both like to travel and have used various Airbnb accommodations at home and abroad. We enjoy visiting friends, children and grand babies; attending gigs and concerts and exploring places near and far. At home we are busy with renovation projects, cooking and entertaining. We try to keep fit and love walking with our border terrier Ruby; the local area provides many opportunities for beautiful and varied hikes.
