I feel like we communicated very well with Erin (she indicated she had a great stay) and was honestly caught off-guard by this unfortunate review. We left her a very sincere and favorable review, and thought her group was very good. (1) Erin has a good piece advice to future guests that I agree with- "Make sure to read the posting carefully." I love well informed guests and list as much information as is prudent, so that guests are aware of things like a pet fee. It is unfortunate that this caught her by surprise, but this may be due to her not reading the whole listing... Airbnb currently does not have an area where owners can charge or list that there is a pet fee. Their advice to owners is to charge this after guests make their reservation. (2) Mea culpa for spelling Erin's name incorrectly. We never sent her the incorrect itinerary, however; just spelled "Erin" slightly wrong. (3) My wife and I were the people who stopped by to drop off the air mattress. (There were two air mattresses already in the home, but the owners had forgotten to leave the air pump when they stayed the week prior.) Erin was informed that we would be swinging by that evening, and she acted very glad to see us. My wife and I stopped by after church, and Erin commented on how kind it was of us to swing by and help them out. I received no impression that we had caught them "off-guard". This home is located in a subdivision, which doesn't fit the definition of "secluded". (4) I inspected the entire home prior to this guests arrival and am 100% certain the sheets were freshly laundered. I'm certain of this because I helped our cleaning lady wash them prior to this group's arrival.
I am glad that Erin's trip was very good, overall.
