This was our first AirBnB experience and we were a little nervous as to how it would work out. But from the moment of first booking to after we left we couldn't have hoped for anything more. Paul's communication before our stay to make sure we would have an easy check-in for a late night arrival started everything well. When we awoke and saw the magnificent views of the garden and mountains beyond, we knew we had made a great choice of location. The quaint and very friendly village and the magnificent walks in the Silvermines mountains and the relaxing nature train along the wonderful bubbling brook started each day in the most wonderful way. Karin has left us with some beautiful Irish bread so that we had something to start breakfast the first morning and the kitchen and cooking facilities were excellent. The accommodation was spacious allowing plenty of room for me to leave all my family tree information spread out each day while still having plenty of room to eat and watch TV or relax. The balcony over the garden and looking out over the mountains was a wonderful spot to sit and read or daydream. Karin found a precious 100 year old photo I had accidentally dropped in the street while loading the car on departure, established that it was likely to belong to me and then Paul immediately let me know and offered to mail it wherever I needed, relieving me of a lot of anxiety on the long flight back to Australia. We had a very successful and relaxing trip and cannot recommend Paul and Karin's accommodation and hospitality too highly. We would definitely stay with them again on future trips back to Tipperary.

What a wonderful experience. A luxurious timepiece in the heart of mountainy Tipperary yet close to the small villages and major towns like Limerick and Nenagh was exactly what we were looking for. As Australians used to vast distances it is always surprising how close everything is in this country and you can certainly reach everywhere you might like to visit from this rural heartland. Paul and Karin were always helpful and responsive and we hope we can return some day

Sociable, creative, and passionate about period properties, having restored many, including The Silvermines accommodation. I have lived in different countries, and enjoy meeting new people. I like being outdoors, and am happy to inform and show guests the outdoor activities available to them in this local area, in the County of Tipperary.
