Great spot, centrally located and very nice. Pati is a very gracious host and supplied us with pancake supplies, oil, fresh fruit and eggs. Very informative about the area and what we could do.

Our extended family of four adults and one child spent four nights at Patricia's place - we rented all three of her units, the jacuzzi suite upstairs and the two smaller units downstairs. Per her rates, we paid approximately $200 total for each of our four nights. The positives: it is an easy 10 minute walk to the lovely beach of Chacula, which has fine sand and clean, clear water; Patricia herself is a friendly person who is bilingual; there was always hot water; the jacuzzi worked nicely. Negatives: it was a fairly typical Mexican hotel sort of space, with elderly mattresses, not very clean dishes or jacuzzi, ceiling fans that did not work in either the bedroom or kitchen of the jacuzzi suite and that worked imperfectly in the living room (clicked monotonously), no wastebaskets except in the bathrooms, no dishwashing sponges til we asked for them. We would have been fine with all of this if we had not been paying top drawer US rates for a second drawer Mexican place. We had just finished four nights at a lovely condo in Bucerias that was the same price and about five times more pleasant and better outfitted, so we knew what the local market could offer.

Very nice place to stay with comfortable forniture and appliance warehouse. You can stay there and walk about 200 mt and you will be able to reach the beautiful Mar de Jade. The beach is quite nice as well because it isn't nearly as touristy as other beaches. There are some vendors, but we were barely bothered by anyone. I wish we had more than just one night to spend there.

I am a retired Spanish Immersion Teacher from Northern, CA. I first came to the Rivieras Nayarita 23 years ago, my bilingual & binational family and I have been returning since. We built a home in Los Ayala, later La Penita de Jaltemba and for the last ten years Chacala.
I first came to Chacala by fourwheel drive, later by boat, and decided to live here after snorkleing in her crystal clear waters. The local town people gave me the nick-name Sirena (Mermaid) after watching my daily swim across the bay. I enjoy Chacalas tranquility and friendly people, always ready to lend a neighbor a hand.
Chacala's fresh seafood (Lobster, octopus, and fish) are prepared as you like it Bayside! Trips on a Banana, to The Caves Beach, The surfer's beach or to Coral Island upon request.
