Not my favorite stay. Despite the high price, it was a bit of a let down.
The place is strategically located near the castle, but it's currently closed. That's my fault for not knowing, but this is just an FYI for the next unknowing guest.
Checking in was smooth and host was in contact during this time.
Once I got to the room, the futon was filthy. There were hair and crumbs all over. I let the host know, but he would only be able to drop off new sheets the next day. Thus, my first night was uncomfortable.
Keeping in touch with the host for use of the bike or tips on how to get around town was fruitless.
The place is a bit of a walk to the arcades, but not bad at all. It just would have been nice to use a bike which would have made the experience that much better.
My next AirBNB stay in Hiroshima for the same price was like a fancy hotel, couldn't help but feel like I ripped off in Kumamoto. If its your only choice, it beats the hostel or a pricier hotel, but don't hesitate to shop around.
