The room is on the second floor of a lovely old Victorian house in an increasingly fashionable part of London. We're surrounded by parks and open space, and our quiet road is off a thriving high street with excellent shops, cafés and restaurants. Buses into town pass by the end of our road, or there are excellent transport links from local stations 10minutes' walk away. We're close to Lewisham DLR, the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site of Greenwich and the artists' quarter of Deptford.
The room is on the second floor of this grand old house; it's warm, bright and comfortable, and has its own bathroom (lavatory, basin and shower). There's a double bed, endless hot water, good, free wifi connection, a kettle, microwave and hair drier. We provide snacks, breakfast items, tea, coffee and fruit and a warm welcome.
Acesso de hóspedes
Guests are welcome to watch television in the sitting room, or have breakfast in the kitchen. They can store food in the kitchen fridge, but we regret that we prefer the guests not to cook evening meals in the kitchen. The garden has table and chairs outside if you want to take the air. We prefer people not to use the kitchen after 10.30pm.
Please note that there is a parking space, but it is not always available. To be sure that it is left empty for your vehicle, please book the space in advance (it's included in the price of the room, but we just need to know if you're bringing a car).
Interação com hóspedes
There is usually someone in to help you, and we're happy to tell you all about London (my husband and I write guides to London, and my husband is a Blue Badge guide). If you want to book a walking tour, or a running tour with us, please don't hesitate to ask about our fees.
Outras coisas a ter em conta
We have three cats (they are not allowed in the bedrooms). There is one other resident on the floor where the guest room is.
The kitchen is not suitable for cooking dinner at home. We prefer our guests to go out to eat dinner. Breakfast and snacks are fine.
I am a writer, runner and personal trainer. I live here in Catford with my husband, daughter and my friend Ruth, who is staying with us for a year while she does her MA in tourism. We are a Spanish, German and French speaking household: my sons live in Berlin and Murcia.
The love of my life is running; I run the Virgin Money London Marathon every year and can coach visitors to London who want to to train for a special race (please contact me for more information on this subject). I run many races every year and love running up mountains, too.
My other interests are gardening, theatre, Berlin culture (I travel there every month to see my little grandson).
