Our comfy, spacious ground-level home is perfect for families and kids. The neighborhood is very walkable and near to BART and highways for day-trips to San Francisco and Bay Area attractions. A perfect home base for adventures, or just for relaxing!
Our 1100 square foot, 2 bedroom, open floor-plan home is perfect for travelers who want the comforts of home, the tranquility of a beautifully maintained garden and backyard, quick access to mass transit, and short walks to shopping and nightlife.
We are on the ground level of a craftsman bungalow duplex, and are centrally located in one of the Bay Area's most vibrant neighborhoods. From our front door you will be a ten-minute walk to three different shopping districts (College Ave/Rockridge; Telegraph Ave; Piedmont Ave), as well as to the MacArthur and Rockridge BART stations. Day trips into San Francisco will be a breeze, but you might find that the world-class dining and shopping keeps you in Oakland!
Our home is spacious and comfortable, with a large, well-appointed kitchen that flows into a great room featuring a baby grand piano, couches and rocking chairs, and a play area for kids. Both bedrooms look out on the backyard gardens; one has a queen-sized bed, and the other a single bed and a crib, and a diaper-changing table. Our white tile floor keeps us cool in the summer, and being at ground level keeps our home at a nice even temperature year-round.
Our home is particularly well-suited to families with small children, and to cat-lovers as you will be sharing space with our very social and gentle cat, Lizzie. Because she will require some care (affection, food and water freshening, and litter-box scooping) we are offering a discounted price for renting our home.

As our guests, you will have access to the open, flowing backyard space, which includes comfortable seating for dining al fresco as well as a sandbox and gorgeous swingset. You will also be able to use the washers and dryers in the shared laundry room of our community's common house. We live in a cohousing community, so we do ask that our guests be respectful of our neighbors, and of our community guidelines. If you have any interest in cohousing, this might be a wonderful opportunity to get a glimpse of what such a community can be like!
