We do our best to make everyone happy. Within 2 hours our neighbor called saying Toni's party was running an ATV on our septic tank and in his barbed-wire-marked fields -- we did not know they had ATVs. The Welcome Letter has tourism ideas, directions, key codes, but the one thing it clearly states is no walking or driving on the septic field or the neighbor's part of the river -- I know it is wild and free in Montana, we have 10 acres, you feel good at the river, but trespassing isn't cool. Airbnb gives everyone a chance to cancel long after they receive that Welcome Letter!
Lofts are common in our canyon so everyone has a river view, our photos show this with the pool table in the living room. The distance to the river is also clear in photos, a 2-minute walk with no houses in-between. We have never had any complaint -- nearer would give you a neighbor.
Toni wanted the cabin and kennel opened two days before her arrival, opened by prior arrangement only, and there is just no one extra to hire in the canyon in the summer! I tried to find someone to clean the extra cabin and kennel on short notice because she also said the 2 days out there would be a dog -- that we accommodated, and then a camper, that we accommodated. No extra charge.
Then she wanted trash pickup during her stay so I spent 5 hours trying to find someone to haul an extra trip of trash on Friday afternoon. One company agreed to come by closing time from Great Falls (an hour away) if he could get his route done fast.
There are two decks and two copse of trees that provide shady areas throughout the day, and the deck table and chairs can and do get moved that way. Montana gets very high winds so the deck umbrella has a 150-pound stand -- awnings are dangerous.
So as I said in her comments, Toni is really family oriented, but in her effort to have the perfect family vacation, I got calls and emails throughout her stay. There were grass blades throughout the house, hand prints on all the windows, and blood around the toilet ... just not your typical guest.
