A major draw each year is the Holyhead Festival, which takes place during the last full weekend of July with events showcasing local talent and live musical performances.
This is a great spot for walkers with Breakwater Country Park and Holyhead Mountain being at the end of the esplanade. Wonderful walks across to north and south stack can be found beyond, famous for its lighthouse and RSPB reserve, and of course, bird’s eye views of the ferries and ships leaving Holyhead harbour. Seagulls makes a perfect base for day trips to Dublin and for those arriving by train, you really can see most of Anglesey without a car using the local bus and train service. A little further afield, Anglesey has a host of visitor attractions, including a butterfly palace, aquarium and Beaumaris Castle, whilst Snowdonia, with its myriad of exciting outdoor activities, is within easy reach.
