Outdoors we've recently added (quite frankly it was a very popular request) a picnic table and charcoal grill. This is a Weber charcoal grill, all the accessories are packed in the case next to the grill, lighter fluid, utensils, grill cleaner, charcoal and gloves. So go out explore the area come home and fire up the grill and have a great cookout.
The cottage Wifi/Internet is supplied by Comcast Internet Pro service unlimited 100Mb/sec download 10Mb/sec upload speeds, plenty of speed to do Facetime/hang outs, stream movies, music and upload photos and videos of your adventures.
The main living area has an awesome sound system, for the techies it's a THX 7.1 surround sound system, just listening to your music streamed from your phone sounds awesome. You can watch Cable TV through the TiVo, which has many recorded popular shows. The Cottage has an Apple TV, through it’s Apps you can view movies, TV shows and the kids in all of us can play fun games. Movies are what really is special at the cottage. Movies are available on the Apple TV with Netflix and through other apps such as Plex, using Chromecast you can cast your phone to the big screen, there's a small library of Blu-Ray movies, feel free to pick up a rental from the local Red box at Walmart. The Cottage is a real home theater experience.
The Cottage heating and cooling system will allow you to keep the temperatures just right, you can adjust the temperatures at the thermostat or ask for password to control it from the Nest app on your smartphone.
There's a full size washer and dryer to keep your clothes clean. We stock the Cottage with enough laundry detergent & dryer sheets for a few days.
In the Cottage we ask for a smoke free environment, outside there is a barrel with sand for the cigarette butts. If it is raining (or not) feel free to smoke in the screened in porch of the main house.
The water is supplied by a well and filtered, although we stock bottled water, feel free to taste the clean water from the tap.
The term "The Cottage" is a kind of tongue-in-cheek name we gave to a transformed garage, it's really just a cool efficient space for up to 6 people.
Our goal is to provide a true "home away from home" experience, like "I feel at home here (even if it's just for a few days)" We will give you a brief tour of the features on arrival (if you arrive late, we're cool with that. We will make sure you can get in by yourselves and we'll check in with you in the morning, if you want) after that the Cottage is yours. We will knock on the door, as it's your house, and will not enter when you leave during your stay. We have had more then a few first time Airbnb guests and you can see by our reviews we are getting closer to the "Home away from home" goal. When you arrive, we've had guests drive from distant locations, there should be some beverages and snacks and most importantly Breakfast, it's one of the letters in Airbnb. You will find the refrigerator and cabinets stocked with breakfast items, so after your journey get a good night rest and wake up to breakfast supplies at the ready. We do have a "cleaning fee" although a portion goes towards restocking supplies. Feel free to make a reservation, ask a lot of questions, and if it's not for you it's okay to cancel.
Acesso de hóspedes
Just an FYI, there's a long driveway to get to the Cottage, there's a street number sign at the end of the driveway. As you can see from the aerial photo, the Cottage is a separate building apart from the main house.
Interação com hóspedes
You can text me or my co-hosts (Elizabeth and Katie) anytime if you have any questions or concerns.
The Cottage is a separate house apart from the main house, the main house is short walk away, you can see the distance in the photos. We will be glad to answer your questions about the area and just chat. Typically once you are settled in we respect your privacy, we do not enter the Cottage when you are out enjoying the area and we will knock on the door prior to entering.
