Tucked back under the trees this historical log home is truly out of a storybook. Park your vehicle and step back in time as you ascend the steps to the wide, high-peaked-ceiling porch that is perfect for reading, sitting, reading, talking and bird watching. The front door opens into the charming, log-beamed ceiling great room. Windows look out onto the meadows and private lawn of the side yard — pretty views all year long. A large, stone fireplace divides the room and is a four season favorite of our guests. The kitchen, to the right as you enter, is complete with four-burner gas stove and oven, large refrigerator and an antique wood burning stove. WiFi is also provided.
Only 45 minutes from Jay Peak, Stowe, and Smuggler's Notch ski resorts, and a few minutes drive from world-class cross country skiing at the Craftsbury Outdoors Center. On site is dogsledding and out your door x-country skiing and hiking trails that will keep you busy here or visit near-by Lake Eden for fishing, swimming, and boating. Go for a drive and see quintessential Vermont villages, farmers markets, breweries and wineries, and shops full of local specialties.
This classic log home has room for nine people on two queen size beds, one twin size bed, and one pull out couch and two pull out love seats in the living room. The two bedrooms are on the second floor, and the master bedroom has a balcony overlooking a picturesque meadow (full of wildflowers in the summer!). There is one bathroom on the main floor. The Larkspur Cabin features a spacious open floor plan, full kitchen and fieldstone fireplace. The porch is equipped for relaxing and barbequing. Make s'mores and view the stars while enjoying a campfire in the provided outdoor fireplace.
The kitchen is fully equipped including pots and pans, tableware, appliances), washer/dryer, cleaning supplies. All linens (towels and bedding) are also provided.
We also operate Eden Dogsledding Adventure Tour Center, and you can go dogsledding, a lifetime experience, while you're here. Tours run year-round, on traditional sleds in winter and dogsledding-on-wheels in the warm months. Our teams of friendly, Alaskan Huskies will be happy to entertain you during your visit! You can also check out the listing for our more modern guest house,the Foxglove Cottage, which is located next to the dogsledding center. Foxglove offers room for seven, with two bathrooms, a large kitchen, woodstove, and radiant floor heat that offers extra warmth in the wintertime.
