My authentic 1850 house, located In the "America's Coolest Small City" (Frommer's, 2008), Port Jervis, NY., has a country feel, but is convenient to transportation, shops, and activities, like biking, hiking, skiing, swimming, and photographing.
My big old (1850) house is located in town, but when you're in the backyard, it's like country. The airbnb apartment on the second floor is fully furnished--bedroom sleeps 2 on a double bed, living room futon sleeps 2 small or one large person. If there are 3 separate guests, there is small bedroom with a comfortable twin-sized bed.. Will accept up to 4 guests at a time--(for each guest after 2, there is a $15.00 extra fee) .
There's an eat-in kitchen, a dining room/office, and a living room area. Kitchen is equipped with coffee-maker, dishes, flatware, some cooking utensils, stove, etc....The bathroom has a large tub/shower.
The view from the kitchen and dining room windows is of a huge back yard, carriage house, and the Neversink River, which flows into the Delaware 1/2 mile downstream.
You can walk to the train or bus to NYC (80 miles southeast), or take a taxi. I will be glad to pick you up if you arrive by train or bus (arrange for your arrival time, of course) from NYC.

I live downstairs and, most of the time, will be available for any questions or information guests may have. House Rules and carry-in/take out menus are contained in a loose-leaf binder in the apartment. There are brochures about the many area attractions on the bookcase in the living room.
I teach one-on-one (or two) hour-long intro to yoga / meditation classes (first session free for guests-set up time and day when you make your reservation). I also offer one free collage or vision board workshop --this takes 3 or 4 hours, so must be planned before you arrive.
Please ask me for anything you need (cooking utensils not in the kitchen, for instance) while you're visiting. I am very accessible and I live downstairs.
Outras coisas a ter em conta
I provide breakfast items such as bagels/muffins/fruit/milk/coffee, etc. for your first morning. Let me know if you prefer vegetarian or vegan choices, gluten free, etc.
One free hour-long Intro toYoga & Meditation Class to my guests upon request. Let me know before you arrive to arrange time. Same holds true for one free Collage or Vision Board workshop.
Port Jervis is a rich historical area--once the center of commerce for the entire Tri-States--flourishing railroad and D&H Canal plus a new hiking trail into Elks-Brocks Park (which all have been refurbished in town for biking or hiking). The old Erie railroad round house can still be seen (being renovated), and the beautiful vintage brick Erie railroad station has been utilized for shops (there's a great health-food store) and offices. All these sights are in easy walking distance from my house, along an old railroad path--take a right for downtown, left for the Delaware River Bridge to Pennsylvania. 1/2 block from the house, the Laurel Grove Cemetery is my favorite place to jog/walk--designed by the man who lost the bid on designing Central Park, it has winding paths along the river, and Tri-States rock (carved with lines delineating the actual borders of NY/NJ/PA) at "Carpenters Point", where the two rivers meet. Bring home a photo of yourself standing in 3 states at one time (I'll take the photo for you, if you choose).
Guests must have complete airbnb verification--reviews from other hosts would be helpful, too. I prefer guests arrive no later than 10:00pm. I don't TEXT, please DO NOT text me. No smoking in the house.
*Small and well-behaved dogs are ok (no more than 2 at a time). The apartment really can't accommodate more than one large breed dog at a time. (If you want a "pet-sitter" that can be arranged at a very small fee.) Quiet guests (and pets) are appreciated.
******Sorry to say the apartment is NOT safe for toddlers. (non-walking Infants are ok). Well-behaved older children are welcome.
Can accommodate up to 4 guests, since there are two double beds (and a fold-up cot) in the apartment. (More than 2 guests-15.00 extra each). If you are inviting extra guests to join you after you arrive, please let airbnb know when you make your reservation, so that the extra fee will be tacked on to your reservation cost by airbnb.
There is a "House Rules" binder in the apartment with information on what to do while you're here and before "checking out" (strip beds/wash dishes/leave keys in hallway basket).;
I am grateful to all my guests for following my House Rules.
