Lake-front retreat w/ unbelievable sunsets, swimming & boating, in area of million dollar homes, near Clemson Univ, 2 hrs from Atlanta. Private park-like setting, safe & family-friendly. Updated one bedroom small cottage w/ livingRm, kitchen, bath & laundry, AC/heat.

The entire property is included w/ your cottage rental; 1.1 acres & 800 ft of lake shoreline, a dock, a pier, a sunset deck, a grilling pavilion. It's a private lake experience; nothing nearby compares, perfect couple's getaway

O espaço
It's a Holiday Haus - Small cottage with everything you need for a relaxing lake getaway. 1970-era basic cottage, updated in 2016 with fresh paint, flooring, furniture and HVAC. Memory foam mattress in the bedroom for a comfortable night’s rest; living-room with sofa-bed, recliner chair and Flat screen TV with HD antenna plus Netflix. Very Private - interaction with neighbors is minimal as the landscaping and spacing between properties provides a large buffer. Turn off your phone and reset your life at Pine Island Point!

It is ideal for a couple's retreat - one couple getting away, relaxing and focusing on each other. Two younger children are easily accommodated by sofa-bed and the hassock-hide-a-bed, however, it becomes crowded with older children. So, while the amenities could accommodate lots of people, the cottage is best for one or two adults, or a couple with a young child, or 2 people and a pet (non shedding canine under 40 lbs only - no cats)!

It is a truly a small cottage - you won't be comfortable if you attempt to bring too many people! Two adults & 2 Children & 1 non-shedding canine pet under 40 lbs is my max.

If you need clarification - by all means message me.

Again, young children are free so if you are a couple with young children that is ideal for Pine Island Point, conversely group events just don't work well for us - we will not approve any group activities.

This is a "Lake-Experience" Destination, with a 270 degree view of the water; almost any direction you look there is water! Including 800 feet of shoreline and over an acre of lawn to enjoy. This is not a residential or in-town neighborhood with just a sliver of lake frontage - this is Lake Keowee the way it used to be... the best you can imagine!

If your focus is on the outdoors, then this is the place for you - this property is all about enjoying Lake Keowee. There is a grilling pavilion with a propane grill & wood pellet smoker, a social pavilion with seating, tables and a fire pit, there is a sunset deck, a fishing pier, a boat/swimming dock, and a beach to launch your kayak.

There is plenty of space to spread your wings, but remember we don't accommodate groups or events and parking is limited. We absolutely will not accept boats, trailers or RVs. While there are lots of out-door amenities for you to enjoy, we do not offer this property for you to host an event.

Exception: If you are a couple w/ family or friends in the area you can certainly have a few of then over for day time lake activities, a BBQ, a swim, etc but only with prior approval and all vehicles must fit in our small drive way (5-6 cars max). This kind of activity needs to be outlined for me in advance and there may be a clean-up fee or deposit required if approved.

Other things to note: No long term rentals available - this is a weekend get-a-way destination. 3-day stays are ideal... 10-day max! No boats, No RVs, No group events. No cats and no dogs over 40 pounds - no shedding dogs as we cannot accommodate and maintain the cottage to a high standard when pet hair is dispersed throughout.

I say all of the above because I want to be realistic and create the right expectations on your part. I have found that by over emphasizing this information & description, I am able to match up correctly with guest expectations. Plus equipped with this information you can better pick the Airbnb property that suits your plans!

Pine Island Point is a really fun place for the right guests and that is typically an individual, a couple or a small family wanting to relax at the lake.

This is an ideal retreat for the "Kale & Kayaker" type! It's great for swimming, kayaking, SUPs, meditation, reading, writing, recovery, and relaxing. There is No-Better Sunset on Lake Keowee - so grab your glass of wine and meet on the deck to watch the sun go down!

Reminder: Parking is limited and restricted to the gravel driveway - no parking on grass -- 5 to 6 cars fills up the parking area, and there is no space for an RV or camper. If you have any questions about this please message me and I can refer you to the pictures to show you the space allotted .... I don't want to turn anybody away so don't show up with RVs, Boats or Campers or more guests than you indicated in your rental request. Thank you for understanding. You'll be amazed once you arrive!

Relax & Recharge! You have complete access the entire property and facilities: the cottage, the sunset deck, the social pavilion, the grilling station, the fishing pier, the swimming dock; and shared access to Pine Island Point - the island/peninsula at the western extension of our property.

Important note: The outer most point of the property is a shared Peninsula with our next door neighbors - this is a common area so you are welcome to enjoy it - however please respect the neighbor’s privacy as they like to do their own thing. Keep your pet with you and do not let them roam freely and enter any adjacent properties.

If you are there during the week - you will likely be the only ones around as the most of our neighbors are "Weekenders" - so if you want maximum privacy, tranquility, and exclusivity then weekdays and non-holidays are for you.

The Check- in time is 3 pm (or later) and the Check- out time is noon (12 or earlier).

I want to emphasize that there is a 3 day minimum - we don't rent for 2-days. If you are coming for the weekend, you can start on Thursday and leave Sunday morning or come Friday and depart Monday Morning - but we do not offer a late check outs.

A note about the rate: We keep the price constant at $249+ airbnb fees per night no matter what season as the lake is enjoyable 365 days a year. And you should note that you will be paying the same price as every other guest.

Unlike a hotel where you are getting a room and shared space -- here you are exclusively renting the entire property and amenities, hence the reason for our policies.
Side note: If you contact a outdoor sports rental company - you will find that Kayaks are $80 a day - so are SUPs, Floats etc all have rental value - so w 3 kayaks, 3 SUPS & lots of floats - that's $480 of rental value included with you stay.

Cleaning - as a result of Covid-19 we have decided to clean the property oursleves vs using a service. We are interested in having a germ free environment as we stay there frequently. We have to allow time for cleaning and disinfecting. As you have noticed we don't charge for cleaning.... so we ask for your assistance in cleaning up after yourself - please help make the cleanup job reasonable -- without exception - we need you to tidy up after yourself - please plan on it.

Your clean-up effort and care allows us to keep from charging a security deposit and a cleaning fee. Most experienced Airbnb travelers get it - so excuse me for emphasizing this but please don't treat this as a hotel room and your host as a maid service or we won't get along very well. Its a special place and most likely you will want to return.

Pine Island Point is not a rental property per se but our cottage that we love and we enjoy sharing via Airbnb. Rental is not our principal purpose and the revenue isn't necessary - we use the airbnb funds to make property improvements - not to pay for it. Your rental fees go to improvements for everyone to enjoy. We share via Airbnb exclusively and do so approx 100 days per year - only.

Making your decision: A point of reference, large homes in this area on smaller lots with limited shoreline, rent for $7500 per week. There you typically get the use of a really nice house but their property and lake frontage doesn't compare. Pine Island Point is a unique lake experience; so if like privacy and you are seeking "lake- time" - this could be the place for you.

Another thing: All of our pictures on airbnb are the real thing, taken with an iPhone without any filters or photo-shopping, no professional photos - what you see in the pictures is what you will experience. Some other listing show various areas of the lake and imply its part of their property or view - hardly. Here you get what you see - great mornings, great sunsets, great night skies - all of the pictures are of the property you will have complete access. There is a wooden farm style fence that outlines the property making it easy to see the property boundaries - it is all there for you to enjoy exclusively. And there will be no visitors and no disruptions to your relaxation - the property is turned over to you for your private enjoyment.

Exclusive Private Enjoyment! The gated entrances adds to your privacy.

Outras coisas a ter em conta
Pine Island Point is an exceptional destinations for a wellness week. If you are recovering from surgery or wanting to kick off a physical or emotional plan for your life this is an ideal location.

It is also a great location to use as a base to explore upstate of South Carolina, NE Georgia and Western North Carolina. The Blue Ridge Parkway, Tail of the Dragon (for motor-sports enthusiasts), apple picking at Sky-Top Orchards, shopping in Historic Highlands NC, even a trip over to the Cherokee Casinos is easy from the cottage. So much to do...

Some people are coming from nearby and want to relax at the lake - others are coming from afar and want to explore the area….within a couple of hours drive you can visit so many places. So, whether you are relaxing at the sundeck or taking your convertible for a ride through the mountains – you can do all of this and more from Pine Island Point.

As for weather information - we have lots of sunshine, nice breezes and cool nights. Summer highs in the 80s & 90s with a 15 to 20 degree night-time drop in temps. It is easy to internet rsch our weather for more details. I enjoy the lake year-round but it is certainly nicest starting in March... one of my favorite periods is “Masters Golf Tournament Week” mid April!

As far as bringing a boat - I discourage it as my dock has a lift in it set for a particular boat size - The dock is there for you to enjoy the water; swim, kayak, float, relax etc. but I don't offer my property for motor-boating nor campers (RVs). Sorry for the disappointment.

If you rent a boat and want to “tie-up” for the afternoon – we have to discuss this in advance. Any damage to my dock will result in a problem; I need to know that there is going to be a boat at my dock. Also there will be a daily rental fee of $50 to be paid upon your arrival. As you can tell I really don't want the wear and tear on my dock, or docking damage so I am discouraging motor-boating.

However, kayaking, SUPs, swimming, fishing and relaxing = yes yes yes - you can't find a better place to do that!!!

Pets (nice ones) are welcome - 1 dog under 40 lbs that is a non-shedding breed. We cannot accommodate large breeds or shedding breeds or dogs that want to spend the weekend in the lake and then come inside the cottage -- too much wear and tear -- sorry. Protection from germs means extra time cleaning and disinfecting - so we are unable to spend time clean up after pets - fully 50% of our guests don't have or don't bring their pet. As a pet-owner you are responsible for disposing of pet waste and any other clean up associated with your pet - including pet hair etc. Please go the extra mile in managing your pet and cleaning up after it - thank you. And please keep your pet with you and please don't allow them to roam freely; especially not letting them roam our neighbors’ property.

Pets Policy: One non-shedding domesticated publicly socialized trained canine is about all this cottage can handle - under 40 lbs. More than one pet and you will need to get my prior approval - some guests will have two 8 lbs pups... and that can be accommodated

NOTE: respect the pet rules! One pet per family and it has to be a properly socialized pet, under 40 lbs and be non-shedding. More than one pet, or a very large pet is a problem for us.

Sorry No Cats - I am allergic to them.

Important Info: Out of respect for our incoming guests we can't have a pet situation that requires an extraordinary effort to clean and sanitize. We love pets but we are not operating a pet-vacation dog ranch or kennel so allow me to apologize in advance to those with multiple dogs and cats - sorry we just can't handle it. I feel bad writing this but more than half of our guests don't have pets and don't expect to deal with pet related issues. Again, if you have a special situation you want to run by me – by all means - message me.

Trash - put your trash, pet waste bags and all other garbage in trash bags, tie them and place them in the garbage can (located in the drive-way shelter) - no loose trash in the trash can - please. The county does not offer trash pick up for this location so we have to haul it off - make it easy for us.

If for privacy reasons you want to take your trash to the county convenience center it is located about 3 miles away - 127 Willow Springs Road area code 864 phone # 868.7853. Many people want to protect their privacy so the haul it off themselves.

GEESE: Periodically we have geese visit the property. Geese are unwanted guests, however I discourage throwing rocks at them as it is unnecessary - just walk towards them and they will get back in the water and go elsewhere. Geese are known to eat and poop and that is why they are unwanted visitors. If you have a pet with you - usually that is a deterrent and they will leave. Sorry about the Geese - if they ever designate "geese season" I will be offering a free stay to geese-hunters! We use a BirdX device and an electric fence to discourage their arrival -- both seems to work.

Pricing: Often I am asked questions about the number of days prices etc.

Here is our philosophy: Price is $249 per night, year-round - we typically don’t adjust to demand, season or events. So, you will be paying the same as every other visitor.

Some other nearby rentals charge less - but they offer less. Some have a cleaning fee and a security deposit but we have found that true Airbnbers are very cool responsible guests that prefer the "no-fee-approach" we offer.

True Airbnbers act like, and care for the property as if it were theirs.

Minimum stay is three (3) days - and we don't deviate that either. We are not offering a hotel room alternative - we are offering a long weekend at the lake.
Maximum stay is roughly one week - this varies bc of arrival and departures on the weekend but nothing more then ten days.

We are not a long-term destination and we don't offer LT discounts. We would never rent the cottage for 30 days to someone because this would impact our personal use of the Cottage. This is our favorite place to getaway to so sharing it is okay but surrendering it to someone for 30 days would steal precious time from us. Hence a long weekend or one short week is about all that we will be able to accommodate - we like being at the lake too!

EV Charging station was installed in 2019 - So if you drive a Tesla or other EV you can plug right up during your stay!

Pine Island Point is an unrestricted area on the best part Lake Keowee near the exclusive Cliffs of Keowee Springs and the Reserve Golf Club. PIP is an awesome peninsula with water everywhere you look. A private road leads to breathtaking lake vistas - over 800 ft. of shoreline for your enjoyment.

This is a secure area that is family and pet friendly. Rare, flat landscape for easy strolling around the property - every inch is easily accessible by foot and is large enough to consider it exercise to see the entire property. You are not on a steep hillside nor are you crowded into a residential area - this is the real lake experience - very retro and all natural – Park-Like!

Property is ideal for guests that want to spend time outdoors, lawn games, grilling, sun-bathing, swimming, fishing, exercising, yoga, meditating -- are all activities that will work well at Pine Island Point.

Note: If you are looking for indoor amenities, luxury accommodations or a boating venue this is not the property for you. It is a very basic one-bedroom, one-bath cottage that is retro and limited in scope.

Again, Pine Island Point is all about the lake.

This is a Lake Retreat and a Tiny-House Experience all in one!

Local business owner PowerSports & Marine Dealer Married since 1983 - 2 adult kids Favorite times of the day: I love coffee in the morning at the lake ... but I also like a glass of wine at the lake during an evening sunset! Non political - non social activism - liberal in some ways conservative in others. Enjoy life - makes others feel good. I enjoy fitness, cars, motorcycles, jetskis food and conversation. Our spot on the lake is very special and its fun for us to share it with others - glad to have you come visit! I think you will agree it is a pretty rare and unique experience. I have owned multiple properties on this peninsula for over 15 years including residing there full time for over five years. As a result I know all my neighbors well - this is a great place to relax - come stay and enjoy Lake Keowee. Airbnb philosophy: We do Airbnb for the fun of it - both as a host and traveler! As long as we continue to have nice interesting people as our guests we'll continue to participate in Airbnb - hope you understand. We want your experience to be so good you feel fortunate to have discovered it and want to come back!

I live in Seneca about 30 minutes away and am typically available for assistance. Usually I will meet you upon arrival, introduce you to the cottage, give you a quick tour/orientation then leave it in your hands - once we show you around we get out of your way and let you enjoy yourselves.

If you are seeking a quiet retreat and you brought your supplies then - park your car, close the gate and let the tranquility of the lake take over.
