I'm going on a trip December 20 - January 10, and am renting out my cozy Crown Heights studio. I'm a bit flexible in regards to length of stay, but since I'm not there to handle key exchanges, I'd like to rent to someone who is staying at least a five days.
First, the stats:
about 350 square feet
very high ceilings
full bathroom with bathtub
good sunlight but not too bright
some exposed brick
bicycle usage included
I bought a leather sofa-chair - it's standing where the wooden chair is in the photos.
2nd, the location:
close to the following subway lines:
3 (goes to Upper West Side)
4 (express, goes to Upper East Side)
A (express, goes to Upper West Side)
C (local, goes to Upper West Side)
3 stops from downtown Manhattan.
The area of Crown Heights I live in is a residential, safe neighborhood. A supermarket is one short block away, a deli across the street, A long block away are numerous fruit and vegetable vendors with fare from the Caribbean. There is a small fish store, as well as Caribbean bakery, and there are two laundry mats in the immediate surroundings. Two Bank of Americas with ATM are blocks away.
Prospect Park, where I love to run in the mornings, is a short 10 minute bike ride away, or one stop on the 4 train.
This is a ground floor apartment, secured through bars on the windows. There are about 10 Units in the building, nice neighbors with a low-key atmosphere. It's pretty quiet, even though the apartment is facing the street. It really calms down at night.
What I love most about my apartment are the high-ceiling and charming details, as well as the wooden floors. It reminds me of a cute apartment in Berlin or Paris. The other thing I love is the great access to Manhattan. There are four trains available (3/4/A/C), so if one is not running (which happens more often than you'd like), you have others to fall back on. I'm in downtown Manhattan within 20 minutes.
Regras da Casa
No smoking in the apartment please.
