Dear future Airbnb guests,
In this response to Dave's review, I would like to mention and clarify why he left such a false and dishonest review about me and my listing. Dave booked for three nights (including the weekend). He stayed for one night then wanted to cancel the other two nights (because he found a free place at his friend's house) and wanted to get a full refund. Dave was too late to request a cancellation with a full refund, It was already 2pm on his second day, that's three hours after checking out time (11:00am on the second day), also, that was less than 24 hours before the check in time for the following day (third day). However, I offered him a decent compensation and he agreed to it happily. On the second day, he left my place without informing me and left the guest/home keys outside of my place. My Airbnb cancellation policy is simple, clear and the most flexible one among the other Airbnb cancellation policies (Full Refund if the guest cancels 24 hours before check in time). Dave was unfairly upset because he didn't get a full refund for the two nights. My address is in the system and has never changed, it pops up on my profile once a guest gets his/her booking confirmed. None of my guests had a problem with finding my place as I communicate with all of them very well to make sure they are taking the right and best directions to get here. I still have a bicycle, especially for my guests, and it is available when they need it (as you see in the pictures). The rooms you see on my profile are accurate and exactly the same as they appear in the pictures. I (sometimes) list my place as a whole, and that's why I post both pictures of both rooms. Dave booked only one bedroom and not the whole place.
Hosts can not design their cancellation policy, they have to pick one from Airbnb, and mine is the most flexible one as I do not have an access to change it once a guest(s) confirms their booking.
My place is always clean/ready all the time and that's a quality all of my previous guests appreciated. I had to report Dave to Airbnb to see what they can do about this matter.
