Bohemian, way cool. Lots of bright colors, character and heavily influenced by time spent in South America, New Orleans, and the Mississippi Delta. Huge open main room, back porch with hammock, private bedroom and bath. Bedroom has A/C and heat, wireless and Sling TV. Stage, lights, huge barn windows.
A former Prohibition Era Speakeasy and historic site of the original Cullman Ironworks, this space is certainly unique, though a bit garage-like. Everything opposite to a hotel. There may be a few cobwebs and a bit of dust; and if you're expecting pristine cleanliness, room service and comfort, avoid O.G.'s Place at all costs--in fact, there is a Hampton Inn near the interstate. However, if you're adventurous and open-minded; drawn to meaningful conversations and world views; or simply inspired by art, music, and laughter, by all means, "Y'all Come!"
This is basically an old style Juke Joint with an attached bed room and ever evolving decor. With a nice size stage, lights, speakers, mixer, 2 mics, and a unique vibe, this space is a song writer or artist paradise. Sight of many jam sessions.
You have the entire flat to yourself. I live in an attached building next door. You have your own entrance, key, etc. It's very private, secure, and much bigger than you would expect from the fotos. Only the bedroom and bathroom have an air conditioner and consistent heat source. Wi Fi and Sling TV available in bedroom only.
Again, I will emphasize that the space is nothing like a hotel, inn, or bed and breakfast. It's a funky, bohemian space available for open minded, world view travelers on a budget. It is clean and comfortable; but also odd, old and rickety to a certain extent.

Anything you need, within---or maybe without--reason. There is a full kitchen, fridge, stove, pots and pans, tea kettle and coffee filter, microwave. Possibly a stray beer or two in the ice box. Paper plates, cups, utensils, salt, pepper, Chrystal sauce, etc. Feel free to use anything. Open up the windows and doors, plug up the Christmas lights, invite your friends.
No smoking inside, turn off the bedroom heater, lights, or a/c when not there. The bar area does not have a/c or a consistent heat source--though there is a pellet stove and kerosene heater that I can ignite by request. The bar is located next to a train crossing, so if you're a light sleeper, be forewarned of loud train horns. Pet friendly, with tile and cement slab floors; however, pets are not allowed on the bed or provided linens. Guests traveling with cats are asked to bring a kennel of some type. Quite a collection of books and classic, eclectic DVDs to choose from. Wi fi and a Smart TV with Sling and a Leaf for Birmingham local channels available in bed room only.

Travelers can have as much or as little interaction with O.G. I'm a football coach, ESL teacher, musician, and world traveler and citizen. Impromptu music and zany behavior have been known to occur. There is always the possibility of some off-the-wall, local character stopping by. You have been warned....
Outras coisas a ter em conta
The mattress and box springs are regular full size, somewhat firm I'd say. An extra twin size sleeping pad from a vintage Airstream is available for an extra guest or family member. Ask O.G.
No drugs, no underage drinking, no smoking inside. Observe "The Midnight Rule." Check with O.G. about hosting an event. Clean up after your pets and yourself
