Comfortable, super casual, and within walking distance to all the action Long Beach has to offer. Can sleep 4 people in the main living area with 2 on couches, and up to 4 can bunk on mattresses in the loft. Easy place to clean & cook your catch.
This building was designed for easy after-beach or after-fishing clean-up with an outdoor-access bathroom & shower and outdoor-access fish cleaning station. Open up the garage door, and you have a covered place to grill or fry the day's catch. This house is a 15 to 20 minute walk to the beach. Please read the entire listing, and understand the sleeping situation before booking. Thanks!
In the main part of the cabin is the kitchen and living area, with the bedroom and main bath in the back. The bedroom has one king-sized bed with linens. There is basic cable, a DVD player, and a Redbox (or similar) at Sid's Grocery in Long Beach.
The large sofas in the living room are plenty wide, and make a pretty comfortable bed, especially if you remove the back cushions. There are some blankets for these, but it's suggested you bring your own, since we don't have the laundry capacity to wash the heavy stuff between each guest.
The attached garage serves as storage for the outdoor grill, some chairs, extra coats for windy days on the water (help yourself if you've packed too light!), maybe a few beach toys & clam shovels. There's a counter and sink that we use when we're vacuum packing fish. You're welcome to use this, please buy your own bags...they're sold at The Dennis Company which is located between us and the beach.
The two other beds are both queen-sized and are sitting on the floor in a loft, which is accessed in the garage/storage area by two heavy-duty ladders that have been bolted together, side-by-side, and also to the landing at the top. When the lights are off, it's very dark up there, which is great for sleeping in. There is no heat in the garage or loft, but that has never seemed to be a problem, even in winter. The queen beds are covered with a mattress pad and sheet. You're encouraged to bring your own bedding for these, but if you're from out of state, or otherwise traveling light, let us know, and we can see that bedding is provided for you. Please don't let small children climb the ladders or sleep in the loft without adult supervision. The loft ceiling is low...take care not to bump your head on trusses.
Outside the garage is a small area with a stainless sink and counter for cleaning fish, and around the corner is a second bathroom with a shower. The second bathroom has a concrete floor and is not heated.

Our parents, Jim & Rose, keep a 5th-wheel on the property and may, or may not be present during your stay. Jim has a lot of fishing experience and can give some reliable advice for catching salmon & sturgeon. The neighbors on the corner, Kayleigh & Tom, are our caretakers. You can ask them for help if an issue arises.

We've lived in, and enjoyed every aspect of the Pacific Northwest most of our lives. The 2 homes we have listed are in a partnership or trust that includes us and/or other members of our family. We all enjoy them and hope you will too! When you book one of our homes and communicate via this website or by email, you'll be working with our capable friend, Kayleigh, who is the caretaker of the Fish House in Long Beach, but the phone number listed will connect you directly with Keith.
