Our house and the separate studio apartment are situated on an acre and a quarter. The property itself is bounded on two sides by The Blue Mountains National Park with a five and three acre properties either side. It is quiet and peaceful. We are three kms from the beautiful, mountain top town of Blackheath and very near to some of the most beautiful walks that the Blue Mountains has to offer. The Grand Canyon Walk, Walls Cave, Cliff top walk and Bridal Veil Falls.
The apartment is a sunlit, studio with it's own entrance and outlook. It is architecturally designed with passive solar principles in mind and very well insulated so you'll enjoy sunrise to sunset warmth. A gas log, slow combustion style fire will keep you beautifully warm in the cool of the evenings or when it snows occasionally in the winter.
The studio is suited to couples for a relaxing, romantic time away or a single person needing a complete break. I've had students, writers and artists stay and free wifi is included. There is a queen size bed with quilts, electric blankets and all linen and towels are supplied. However, a pull out double sofa bed also means it can sleep up to four for shorter stays.
There's a well equipped kitchenette with polished, timber bench tops, a fridge, double bench top elements, stainless steel electric fry pan for baking, microwave and toaster and a good selection of quality saucepans and cookware.
Please note that breakfast provisions for your first morning are provided: a home baked loaf of bread, free range eggs, juice, cereal, milk, butter and conserves. A range of quality teas, plunger coffee and hot chocolate are provided for you to enjoy throughout your stay.
The french doors of the studio open out onto a large covered deck. From the windows you can enjoy the tree top views and diverse bird life.
Relax in the double spa bath with the knowledge that all water on the property is treated with an Envirocycle system and is reused to water the gardens. I use only environmentally friendly cleaning products and a non-toxic approach is used in the gardens as well. The place is also powered by a 3kw grid connected solar system.
Arrive to the candles lit and the fire burning if it is cold and an oil burner with essential oils are there for you to enjoy.
There is digital television and radio, cd, dvd, selection of dvd's and ipod dock, scrabble board and playing cards.
I can organise in house Massage and Day Spa treatments for your stay and you can choose from an extensive menu. Please ask and I can email you the menu once you have secured the accommodation.

We are located three kms from Blackheath. It is a town with lots of character and a village feel. There are great cafes, excellent restaurants, nice galleries, a glass blowers studio, a jewellery gallery, an antiques emporium to browse. Lots of artists live here. It is also a famous rock climbing destination. Centenial Glen is where you can start but there are many climbs around the district. There is a lovely swimming pool in a beautiful park with free BBQs near by, when it is hot and a golf course just 250 metres away. It is only ten minutes drive (or a short train or bus ride) to the more touristy Katoomba with it's larger supermarkets, interesting Cultural Centre and Art Gallery. The Scenic Railway and Three Sisters are here. In the other direction the Jenolan Caves are one hour bus ride (they will pick you up and drop you off in Blackheath) or you can drive. Mt Vic Flicks is a short drive away. It is open Thursday-Sunday. It is an old fashioned cinema and a locals favourite. Sit back with a cup of tea in a real cup and a choc top and watch films from all over the world.
It is a one and a half to two hour drive from Sydney if driving or a two hour train trip from Sydney's Central station. See Cityrail for time tables and a trip planner. We can pick you up from the train station by pre arrangement or it is a $13-15 taxi ride.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
