We appreciate your feedback regarding the AirBnB partner app "August Home". This app guarantees our guest's safety by issuing a one-time key to our guests instead of physical key. By doing this, key copies cannot be made and everyone's safety is ensured.
What is surprising to us is that as a host yourself, you waited until 10pm of the evening of your arrival to read our house rules.
Had you read our welcoming message and your itinerary when you booked with us, you would have had over a week to raise any issues or concerns you might have had and allowed us an opportunity to address the issue - as a matter of fact, it is AirBnB/Host policy to offer alternate entry procedures for guests not wanting to use the August app. A simple message from you would have resolved the issue long before your arrival.
As a consequence of your apparent procrastination you probably also misunderstood or misread our house rules - nowhere in there do we have any restrictions on contacting us - we are available 24/7!! Specially if you have issues entering the place!!
Regarding the temperature issue, the house has a central unit that regulates the temperature of the whole house which we keep at level comfortable for 98% of our guests - for example, our other guest which stayed in the room next to you had no issues with the temperature.
Had you communicated to us you had an issue with the temperature we would have fixed it on the spot - something we did immediately once you told us you were cold!!! It is on you if you chose to wait until your last day here as there was no need to communicate in person - you could have messaged us on AirBnB at any time - something you ultimately did anyhow.
In any case, an easy fix would have been to close the vent in your room or make use of the many blankets available to you in your room.
