Treetops Hideaway is immersed amongst the trees in a spectacular garden and forest setting, on Mt Wellington. Discover Tasmanian life, where nature is on your doorstep, while the creativity and beauty of Hobart is only a ten minute drive away.
Treetops Hideaway is a fully self contained flat that is nestled within a spectacular garden setting on Tasmania's iconic Mt Wellington. Built as an extension to our uniquely Tasmanian 1920s black vertical board home, the Hideaway is located on a separate wing to the original house, with its own private entrance and stairwell. The light filled flat contains an open plan living and dining area, with a fully equipped kitchen. Decorated with Tasmanian antiques and collectables, there is a dining table and chairs, beanbags and a comfortable futon that will allow you to relax and enjoy the spectacular beauty of Mt Wellington. Alternatively you can enjoy the 32 inch TV, or enjoy the free wifi to catch up with your friends and family.
The flat contains one main bedroom with a queen bed, Sheridan sheets, new fluffy towels and convenient oil heaters to keep you warm and cosy while on the Mountain. In winter you will enjoy a high quality goose down doona (comforter) and in summer we use lighter bedding. The views out the bedroom overlook a stunning half acre garden. The futon in the louge room folds out to a comfortable double bed which can also sleep 2 people or children.
Treetops Hideway has a bathroom with shower and we can give you access to our laundry should you need to use the washer and dryer. We also have drying racks and irons and ironing board that we can loan you- just let us know what you need.
With the exception of one window, Treetops Hideway is not visible from our house, offering guests the oppurtunity for a secluded and relaxing break.
This Hideaway will comfortably immerse you within in a Tasmanian mountain environment. You be able to smell the rainforest, hear the kookaburras and tawny frogmouths, experience the call of the Tasmanian currawongs and cockatoos as they fly off the mountain and see cheeky parrots and many other birds. And at night, right outside the Hideway, you be greeted with wallabies, pademelons and the occasional bandicoot and quoll.

We are a busy family of four, including two young children, but are often home and are always happy to provide advice and assistance if needed, either in person or via text message. Alternatively if it is privacy you are after, we are also happy to give you that.
Outras coisas a ter em conta
We also have two beloved pooches, Milo and Lewis who are very child friendly and loving.
Given we are a busy family and have young children we ask that you keep late night noise to a minimum.
We also ask that you do not smoke in the house or on our property.
We like to know about you before you arrive. Please provide some details in the verification section of your profile.
I am an academic, mother of two young children and wife to a hilarious Englishman. As a family we love to travel! We love the great outdoors so Tasmania is paradise for us. But we also love culture and good food and travel overseas regularly. We use AirBnB regularly and have stayed in AirBnBs in England, Denmark, Sydney and Melbourne. Our favourite travel destinations are Canada (we used to live there), Scotland, Germany and New Zealand. We have two dogs and our very favourite thing to do with them is to go camping up the East Coast of Tasmania in our old, yet beloved camper trailer. Our ideal next destinations would be Iceland and Japan.....
